Exploring the Player Plus Meteora Bass Models | Player Plus | Fender

Description

The Fender Player Plus Meteora active bass is one of those remarkable instruments that honors Fender’s legacy while embracing the future. Fender certainly celebrates its past, but the company doesn’t limit itself to refining and redefining Stratocaster, Telecaster, Precision and other seminal models. Through its Custom Shop and limited-edition Alternate Reality and Parallel Universe series, Fender constantly innovates designs, electronics, ergonomics, hardware and other player-centric features. The Player Plus Meteora bass is the first time a bass has been added to the sleek Meteora series, and it’s available to all.

Supermodel Looks

The ultramodern, intensely offset design of the Player Plus Meteora bass is beautifully eccentric, but it’s also comfortably familiar and distinctively Fender. Four stunning finishes are available—Silverburst, Sunburst, Tequila Sunrise and Opal Spark—and you can top off the visual appeal with either a maple or pau ferro fingerboard. All hardware is finished in a subtle and sophisticated nickel/chrome.

Stunning Tone

Armed with muscular Fender Fireball Bass humbuckers, an onboard 18-volt active preamp with 3-band EQ, pan-pot pickup selector and mini toggle to switch between active and passive operational modes, the Player Plus Meteora bass can craft almost any tone under the sun. The Meteora’s alder body is prized for delivering a balanced and beefy tone with excellent midrange articulation, and a four-saddle Fender HighMass bridge adds spot-on intonation and a bounty of sustain.

Ultimate Playability

Everything about the Meteora bass is designed to enhance your technique. The 34"-scale, modern C neck profile is flat and inviting, and the 12"-radius fingerboard with rolled edges and satin finish is similarly comfy for a player’s hands and fingers. You can get right up to the 20th fret—thanks to the body’s rather extreme lower bout—and all of the switches and knobs are within easy reach for on-the-fly adjustments.

Modern Music Maker

The Fender Player Plus Meteora active bass is a triple-threat music machine with futuristic style, versatile tone and exceptional playability. There’s enough tradition onboard to handle genres that demand a more vintage approach, as well as loads of innovation to satisfy sonic iconoclasts and anyone seeking their own unique sound.

I love the design actually been talking about wanting a bass this shape since the meteora guitar came out. Love the three band eq with the active/passive switch. Only complaint is in passive mode you need an eq pedal.

What is the weight of this Bass?

    Open Reply - Thomas
All basses vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass Guitars are generally between 8.00 and 10.00 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be approximately 8 - 9.5 lbs
