Fender Player II Stratocaster Electric Guitar | Demo and Overview with Valentine Morell
Description
The Fender Player II Stratocaster delivers classic Stratocaster sound and style for today's guitarist. Its chambered ash body produces a light, resonant tone, while the maple fingerboard and neck provide a familiar feel. The Player II Stratocaster's trio of single-coil pickups serve up crisp articulation and chime that shaped decades of music.
Chambered Ash Body Resonates Freely
The Player II Stratocaster's chambered ash body allows tones to bloom with richness and depth. Ash is a traditional Stratocaster wood that provides balanced, articulate sound. Chambering the body makes it lighter while allowing the wood to vibrate more freely, enhancing resonance and sustain. The contoured shape nestles comfortably against your body, inspiring hours of playability.
Fast, Comfortable Neck
The Player II Strat features a maple neck with a comfortable Modern C profile and 9.5" radius rosewood fingerboard. 22 medium jumbo frets make bending and vibrato easy. The fingerboard edges are rolled for smooth playability up and down the neck. A synthetic bone nut and sealed tuners provide accurate tuning. Overall, the neck and fingerboard design blends modern and vintage aesthetics for versatile performance.
Player Series Pickups Serve Up Quintessential Strat Tone
The Player II Stratocaster features a trio of Player Series single-coil pickups for authentic Fender tone with a touch of modern edge. The neck pickup provides warmth and roundness. The middle pickup adds punch and presence. The bridge pickup delivers bite and definition. Together, they produce the chime, clarity and touch sensitivity that the Stratocaster is known for. A 5-way switch gives you instant access to all tonal combinations.
Additional Premium Appointments Complete the Package
Premium details enhance the Player II Stratocaster's performance and style. An updated two-point tremolo offers smooth travel and solid tuning stability. Master volume and tone controls provide flexible shaping of the pickups' sonic character. The 3-ply pickguard, knurled chrome knobs and F-stamped neck plate proudly display the Fender pedigree. Well when you pick it up, you'll say "wow". Its gotta be 5lbs maybe 5.5. It plays nice like a strat. The finish is beautiful and the ash grain visible is amazing. Comfy, easy to play, pickups sound great to me but im no tone expert. Its a great guitar.

This is my first Strat. I've played mostly Telecasters previously. I'm an intermediate at-home player, having picked the guitar back up from my younger days after years of not playing. When I first plugged this in and ran through the clean tones, I knew right away why the Strat is so beloved and timeless. The quality of my particular guitar is excellent. It has a beautiful, dark rosewood fingerboard, immaculate paint job that is much more impressive in person than any of the pictures I've seen - this is a sexy guitar! Quality tuners, and I love the vintage look. The aged pickup covers and knobs look perfect. Great bridge! Really comfortable neck. The only downsides I see are that I would have preferred a gloss finished neck, and I think I'm going to have to do a little filing on the nut for the low E string, and I needed to raise the action. It probably needs a full setup and new string, but don't most new guitars in this price range. Both not big issues at all - this is a great guitar!
