Beautiful Strat and Plays just as well
Just purchased this yesterday with a trade in of a Lone Star strat. guitar is very pleasing to the eye and played good right out of the box. Had my friend who is very experienced working on guitars do a quick set up. Minor truss rod adjustment, screwed the tremolo claw in further to bring tremolo flat on the body and minor intonation adjustment and this thing plays as good as any American Standard I've picked up.(I've owned several Deluxe Americans and it's almost to that level) Black pickguard will have to go and be replaced by a white pearloid and cream pick up covers will then be switched to white or black along with knobs. that's a quick $30-40 on Stratosphere. Maybe locking tuners and it will be as perfect as it can get. Pups may need change out eventually but that will take some playing to determine. The poor pick up comment refers to the humbucker where the two coils are not flat they actually the coils are higher in the middle of the humbucker and taper down towards the outside. It works fine but it shouldn't be like this. i played this exact model in two different GC's and the pickup was the same on both. Overall i really like it and with a few mods this mexi will look like a cadiallac. Wish it was a spaghetti logo but it is what it is cant have everything.

After one year!
I purchased a little over a year ago and I have a rave re view on here for it after one day. ( guy who traded in a lone star if you look for it) After a while I can to realize the pick ups were horrible at best. After tons of tweaking still could replicate a good strat tone. Guys i play with even added that other stats in the past sounded much better. Really started to work on me. So i decided to ditch the guitar in favor of another. But one last ditch effort of a pup and pickguard change did the trick k. Pearloid pick guard with three new pups. Mojotone in neck, Dimarzio Area 58 on middle and Seymour Lil 59 in bridge. 59 splits with pull if middle knob. Amazing sound like a strat. First time playing everyone commented how awesome the new gtr sounded Nope guys same car new engine. Probably keep it now FENDER THISE PICK UPS STINK thanks Mc Below says will u recommend to a friend Only with different pick ups

Great guitar! Blemished display model so some minor flaws.

My girlfriend got me this guitar as a surprise gift. She got me a display model as those are the only ones available now. Right out of the box the guitar looked beautiful. I did notice they didn't include the trem arm which was disappointing but not a super big deal. The blemish is only a small dent the size of a pen tip a few inches above the saddle which caused the paint to separate and the wood be exposed the separation is only about 1/8th of an inch in length. Aside from the very minor cosmetic damage both sides of the frets are sharp along the entirety of the neck which I was expecting as this guitar was shipped to me from the coldness of Minnesota to the heat of Hawaii where I live. All that stuff aside after setting up the guitar and tuning it up it plays amazing and holds tune pretty well. Not much else to say about this guitar; you'll get that amazing clean sound you expect from Fender while still being able to get a nice dirty tone. I'm probably biased because I love Strats and Teles but I'm quickly falling in love with this guitar. As for GuitarCenter they had awesome customer support; sending clear photos of the damage before shipping the guitar, offering a discount due to it being a display model and blemished, and I was surprised that they got the guitar to me in 2 days from all the way across the country. I wish there was a GuitarCenter in my state as all the music shops in my state closed down except for about 3 stores one of which is currently liquidating their inventory.
Unique sound not available in any other Strat series

This Fender Standard series strat is going to be tough to find as the player series is taking over at this price point. This guitar has a warmer, bluesier tone than the player series and both guitars are worth owning. The humbucker on this unit has a very strong growl that isn't overly bright. The MIM quality on this model is a little below the player series but the difference are only visible once you remove the pick guard. But if you want a Strat that sounds different than the V-Mod pickups, Noiseless pickups and Player series pickups, grab one of these while you can. Highly recommended
Nice flame.

This is a all around good guitar that will play and sound as good as any American Strat. You won't be able to tell the difference. Stock HSS pick ups are solid, tuners stay tight, and the flame body finish is bomb. It only need minor tuning right out of the box. Satin neck was smooth and straight. Plugged it into my Vox AC10, running thru Boss DS-1, TC chorus, delay and compressor and it rocks. No need to spend $1000+. Thanks to the wife for the awesome Christmas present! Thank goodness I got her diamond earrings instead of the pajamas.
Very Happy with the purchase

I am very happy to own this guitar. My first electric guitar was a Squier Affinity Series Strat. I wanted to upgrade, but was unsure whether it would be worth the money. I purchased this guitar, and have not looked back. Some of the things I really enjoy about this guitar: The neck's natural finish, the fretboard's smooth playability, and the unreal body finish. This Strat exceeded my expectations. The color/finish is so much more beautiful in person - the website cannot describe its beauty. (See Picture)

Question about the Humbucker Reversed Color Hi. I just recently bought this guitar. But I see that the humbucker pickups on the bridge is reversed in color than what is shown on the picture above. Meaning the black pickup is on the inside and the cream pickup is on the outside next to the bridge. However, the polpiece screws are on the outside cream pickup. What does this mean and would it affect the tone if it was like the picture above?
It won't affect the tone. The only time the tone or performance would be changed is depending on how the pickup was wound.submitted7 years ago

So what is the story with the burst/flame? Is it a veneer? Do they paint the flame on" It doesn't seem lit it would be actual wood grain as that is more of a maple top thing. Maybe. I dunno as I usually play Les Pauls. This is beautiful though and I think I want! Thanks for answering my question.
The top is a Flame Maple is where they get that finish look.submitted7 years ago
