Exploring the JV Modified Series | Fender

Description

The Fender JV Modified ’60s Stratocaster combines classic aesthetics with modern playability, drawing inspiration from the now highly sought-after “Japanese Vintage” reissues of the early ’80s. It has a resonant basswood body and is loaded with a set of three touch-sensitive vintage-style single-coil pickups for unmistakable Fender tone. A push-pull pot on Tone 2 adds the neck pickup into switch positions 1 and 2 for even more tonal possibilities. The Soft "V"-shaped maple neck has a silky-smooth satin finish and the 9.5" radius maple fingerboard and medium- jumbo frets provide effortless playability. Additional appointments to the JV Modified ’60s Strat include a 6-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles, 3-ply parchment pickguard, and nickel/chrome hardware.

The Fender JV Modified '60s Stratocaster comes with a deluxe gig bag.

The JV 60s Strat lives up to the legendary Japanese strats of the past. This thing plays like butter - it supports every move you make. These also have the best trem system of any strat I've ever played. I can dive and pull for minutes and the tuning will still be dead on. The soft v neck feels great. The tone is exactly what you'd expect from a vintage style strat. Dead on for Hendrix, Chili Peppers, etc. The push pull doesn't add much but I guess I'd rather have it than not.

definitely the greatest stratocaster i've ever played and a huge testament to why you should buy japanese fenders. this thing feels like it was made by the gods. the v neck is ultra fast and the perfect size for chord hopping. bridge action straight out of the factory feels pretty much perfect. the fretwork is flawless. the tuners are incredible. it's honestly such a fluid guitar that i find myself chopping at it for hours on the bed unplugged. i barely even know what these pickups sound like yet. if i had one complaint about the guitar, i'm not a huge fan of the big headstock but that's just personal preference. and it is a 60's model so i understand the reasoning. this is one of the first new fender models to come out of fujigen factory in decades and i gotta say. there is a reason these fujigen-era fenders are so prized. these manufacturers are pure masters of the craft. every little detail is scrutinized and dialed in to create a truly amazing instrument. do yourself a favor and go buy yourself a japanese fender. it might end up being the best guitar you've ever played.

The looks grabbed me. Great paint and neck finish. Really nice fret work. Stayed I tune pretty well after the strings got broke in. The pick ups have a lot of bite and the guitar sounded pretty bright even for a Strat. The push pull knob did not work like it was supposed to, so I was not able to get the neck and bridge pickup combination, or all three pickups together as advertised. The neck felt really smooth and nice, but it's a bigger neck than the American pro. The frets are smaller than the American pro. I'd probably have happily kept this guitar if it was all I had but I returned it mainly because of the non function push pull.

Great craftsmanship. The frets are filed perfectly and set up from the factory was actually REALLY good! The Japan factory still takes pride in their quality control. The pick ups are a lot more touch sensitive then my Texas Specials in my other stratocaster. I absolutly love the sound of these pick ups! Very clear and can het very dirty quick! Highly recommend this startocaster. Especially for the price. I like as much as my Pro II strat! I dont want to put it down. The push pull button is a little hard to use. That's my only complaint BUT the ability to add the neck pick up in positions 1,2 and 3 is AWESOME! Nice touch Fender. This is a future classic!

  • Still loving it!

I Purchased this a few months back and am still loving it. I have a soft spot for the large headstock strats especially the white ones . (It just screams the Hendrix-Woodstock vibe I even bought a Jimi Woodstock strap to go with it) It comes with a push pull pot for extra tone combinations and the soft V neck feels really good too! Oddly, it comes decked for some reason, so a few screw adjustments later and a truss rod turn and its perfect. Couldn't be happier. And at a good price too! Recommend
