Very good starter amp
This amp can make quite a bit of noise compared to some other 10 watts, and it has a very nice sound to it, on clean it can give you a great sound for blues and some quiet practising, and the o.d, or overdrive channel is great for rock. I would recomment this to a beginner looking for a great sound, or someone who just wants to practise at home. Great amp.

No tone/volume control
I love fender, usually they make amazing products, unfortunately this is not one of them. I got this as a practice amp for when I go play with my band, it was very portable, reasonably light. The issue is that the tone is completely unmanageable, there are two settings and neither of them seemed to change the tone for the better. I have looked up guides to help me set up this amp, but there are none. This is not a good beginner amp. And I, sadly, would recommend a cheap Line 6 Spider 3 15W over this any day.

I'm a self-taught guitarist who has played for a few years. I consider myself more than a novice, but I have difficulty saying I'm experienced—somewhere in between. I love this amp! I recently upgraded my acoustic guitar to an acoustic/electric. Since I only had a very cheap amp to plug into and a new all-mahogany Fender, I decided to pick up this level of Fender Amp. It is a great amp. It has a clear, crisp sound—or even distorted, crunchy, and heavy if you want it. The size and weight are just hefty enough to be substantial but easy to manage. I am looking forward to using this amp from now on.

Possibly a lemon

I think mine was a lemon. I couldn't use the treble or bass over 2 without a lot of crackling. I exchanged it for a 20G instead.

the amp has no control over the type of sound, you could have low gain and treble and it will still be heavily distorted, doesn't sound good even while being distorted, its almost if there is as distorted sound and clean at the same time but when you want clean its non existent. If I were to buy a cheaper amp again this would be on the bottom of the last page. I would probably go for a orange crush 10

Could I use this guitar amp or any other amps for my portable keyboard?
Yes, you can "use" the Fender Frontman 10G. It will work. It's small, meant for a guitar mid-range. A keyboard is full range. Will it "sound good"? That will depend on the size of the room and the application.submitted2 years ago
