Great bang for your buck!
I bought this guitar as I transitioned from beginner to intermediate. It's a great guitar for practicing and playing in small venues. I would recommend medium strings for this guitar. When I become an expert I will buy a Martin or Taylor guitar. In the meantime I will continue to use this guitar for my worship service. I never would expect this quality of guitar from Yamaha. I am very impressed with the quality for the price. I would recommend this guitar to every beginner and intermediate guitar player.

Absolutely filled with issues
I recently purchased this guitar as a gift for a complete beginner. Her and I had talked about getting her into music in the past, and I knew she liked this guitar. So, I figured I'd buy this for her for Christmas. Originally I purchased the version of this guitar without the Viking style bridge and had some immediate concerns. Upon tuning it for the first time the nut, which was made of a cheap plastic, kept catching the strings and causing them to pop loudly. This meant I could hardly get even close to where the tuning needed to be. On top of that already huge issue, the bridge which was made of the same cheep plastic already had deep gashes in it after only one tuning. Because of this and a few issues with the finish on the guitar I took it back to the store and got this model. This time I opened the guitar in store to make sure it had no issues, and thank god I did. I ended up looking at two different examples of this model and both had the same issues with the bridge, and large issues with the finish. Luckily, on this model it appears that fender upgraded the nut. Eventually I decided to pick one even though it had a large scratch in the finish, because it had the only hardware that had no obvious issues, and I figured I could replace the saddle with a graph-tech one. Once I got it home and tried to take the strings off to see if I could even replace the saddle at all I discovered that, during manufacturing, someone had simply shoved the bridge pins in with no regard for actually placing them properly. This caused two of the pins to be stuck, and one of them was stuck so badly I was unable to get it out at all. The ones I was able to get out were damaged terribly and need to be replaced. But it's around this time that I noticed how cheep the wood on the bridge and fretboard were. The wood was so soft you could easily carve gashes into it with your fingernails. So I decided this was a lost cause. I'll have to find a different guitar to give this Christmas.

Not what i expected from a Fender

Not what i expected from a Fender. The 1E string was dead on the 9th fret. The 6E string also dead on the 7th Fret. The sound was like from a cheap unknown brand of guitar and you wouldn't expect it from a Fender. It maybe just is this model i hope but i should have added more money to buy a higher model or a Martin/Taylor. This maybe ok for kids who are starting but then it'll be too expensive for begginers. Was not happy at all with this product i wish i can return or exchange for an upgrade

It's a great little guitar but very hard action wise. *tips: shave bridge to lower action and make it really low and soft to play. Add brass pins $$ sounds similar to a Taylor/Martin
Amazing Guitar

This guitar is insane for the price, plus they always have sales on them. It sounds great and it has a built-in tuner, not the most accurate but, if you forgot yours at home, this comes in handy. It feels great to play, and it's beautiful. I love this guitar.

The sound is nice and bright. Great feel, smaller neck like an electric, holds tune great after the first few tuning times. I used it on fender amplifiers and even other non-guitar speakers, the sound is beautiful. Volume button is awesome to set exactly how loud you want it. The body percussive sound isn't the greatest but it I can work around it. I do a lot of tap guitar on my Cordoba, the percussion on this one is kind of muffled/bassy thus harder to bring out when doing loops playing live. I only needed an Acoustic Electric because I get tired of my nylon and my electric sometimes. This guitar is the best of both worlds, and at such a low price.
Worth the price

Which fender gig bag goes with fender FA-135CE acoustic/electric concert guitar?
Any standard acoustic gig bag would work. The Musician's Gear Acoustic Guitar Gig Bag would be a good choice.submitted6 years ago
