Introducing the Fender Offset Series
Description
Almost infinitely flexible, the pair of Duo-Sonic single-coil pickups in the bridge and neck positions lends a unique character to for everything from bright, jangly arpeggios to heavy chords. Master volume and tone controls, along with a three-way pickup switch, shape the pickups’ voice to match the music. The 24” scale adds a bit of warmth and thickness to the guitar’s inherent tone, while granting a slinkier playing feel, making it easier to perform multi-step bends. Topped by a 9.5”-radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, the “C”-shaped maple neck is comfortable for all playing styles and ideal for players with smaller hands, or those who use extended chord forms. The six-saddle string-through-body hardtail Strat bridge increases sustain while the bent steel saddles add some zing to your tone, enhancing the upper harmonics to cut through a dense mix.
The downsized body is comfortable for smaller players or those who enjoy energetic stage performances. A gloss polyester finish protects the body while the neck bears a satin polyurethane finish for fast, easy playability. Aesthetic appointments, including the knurled flattop control knobs, cast/sealed tuning machines and a three-ply Mint Green pickguard, add a touch of classic Fender style to this updated design. The unsung hero of the alternative underground, the Duo-Sonic is perfect for players who desire a unique sound and visual style.

long-time rock and roll queen on short scale Duo Sonic
I ordered this guitar sight unseen based on the look of it and the demo videos. Happily reporting that my first 2 weeks with this guitar were amazing. I went directly into the studio with my new Duo Sonic to record a new single. The producer plugged my Fender Duo Sonic (in Capri color) into a VOX AC-30, and boy the tone was perfect coming out of that epic tube amp. The maple neck is so buttery brand new that I was accidentally bending the strings a little during our session = alternative style points. I love this guitar, and recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to fuss with something too expensive, but wants a cool, good looking guitar that delivers super clean tones.

An amazing guitar for the price

This is a great guitar. I went to guitar center played it. Loved the color Capri orange and loved the maple neck and how it was so light. It's alot more slinkier to play since it's a short scale but it makes bends and weird chords easier to play and plus it's an actually fender with all the upgrades as the player series sadly doesn't have a wammy but all and all this is a great guitar and it's definitely worth it
Fun to play with surprising versatility

Just got one of these for Christmas in the surf green color, playing mainly out of a Vox AC15. For only two pickups this guitar can really go places. The shorter scale is refreshing to play and is quickly adjusted to. In the long run, look at upgrading the volume pots, there is a gradual volume increase from about 0-9, but after 9 there is a substantial jump in volume. However, you could keep the pot and play around 9 as your normal full volume and use that extra jump from 9-10 when you're really looking for a boost. Love this guitar, great modern upgrade to a secret classic.
Just the right fit at a fraction of pro-prices

This guitar is exactly what I wanted in an electric. The playability is smooth and it gives me that jangly sound, when paired with a decent tube amp. It is perfect for emulating some of my guitar heroes but without investing in the level of gear they use. Plus, it's orange!
Short Scale Guitar Day

Celebrate National Short Scale guitar day by getting a 24 inch scale Fender offset Duo Sonic. I did and couldn't be happier! I was attracted to this because of color and scale length. These are fun to play for me not having to reach so much. Excellent having around for the grand kids and other children with short arms and small hands who want to play. I swapped pickups for SD Hotrails in neck and JB In bridge. Plays as good as any 25.5 inch scale Fender. MIM, excellent all the way around. I call mine Pumpkin Head.
Fantastic Offspring of a Strat and a Tele

So I had the opportunity to pick one of these up in GC and play one. Had no idea what a Duo-Sonic was, never seen one before. But hey it had a Strat neck and that was good enough for me. Wow.. this thing is amazing! It's a short scale which feels a little odd but you quickly get used to it. The neck pickup sounds very Strat like if you roll the tone back a little and the bridge pickup is very reminiscent of a Tele. Using both creates a very beautiful and unique tone. I love the body, it feels really nice on your lap and the whole thing is very light. I really like the string through body with the hardtail bridge it really helps the sustain. The maple neck is great, glossy on the front but the back is a stain finish which helps you move very quickly. Plus what's not to love about the design?! It looks like the offspring of a Stratocaster and a Telecaster with some P-Bass sprinkled on top. Strat neck, string through body and knobs of a Tele and the pickguard comes down very similarly to a P-Bass. The colors it's offered in are very funky and cool as well. I have the Capri Orange one and it's very pretty, the mint green pickguard just completes the 56 vibe it's going for with the modernness of the bridge and whatnot. The quality is awesome just like everything else coming out of the Mexico factory. Pick one up if you can you won't be sorry. Very fun and cool guitar!
I would definitely recommend this guitar and buy another one

I read that this guitar is good for players with smaller hands. Does this mean it's easier to roll your thumb over top for Hendrix style chords as well?
This guitar does have a smaller neck which would make it easier to roll your thumb over the top for Hendrix style chords.
