Fender Classic Player '50s Stratocaster Neck Soft V Shape - Maple Fingerboard

I have been playing guitar (and teaching) for over 40 years and 30 of that was on stage. For the last 10 years I have also been building and painting my own strat style guitars. This replacement neck is a good replacement neck if you are tired of the 7.5 radius on and older strat. or on a newer Road Worn and Classic Series 50's strat. However, this is not a true 50's soft V it is just a hair thicker than a modern C. I know because I have several strats and builds of strats and have searched high and low for a true soft V and the only one I found (on the stratosphere fender parts,necks and bodies and Music Zoo) most recently available is the American Original 50's soft V. It is an awesome neck and is as close as your ever going to get without buying a fender custom shop strat or the American Original 50's stratocaster itself. I also have a Classic Players 50's strat that this neck was supposed to be modeled after...but no, they are similar but not the same...the neck on my players strat is thicker and has a better feel to it. In conclusion, this is a nice neck but IMHO it is overpriced... but, you will not find a better neck at this price point anywhere...also do yourself a favor and stay away from the Mighty Mite version...it's a lot cheaper but it is too flat and it feels and sounds awful.

I have tried many Lic. by fender necks for allot less and have been disappointed with them all, especially the Mighty mite neck...and I always come back to this neck...it requires very little work (replace the nut and do some light fret work) and the holes are pre-drilled so if it just won't fit in the neck pocket (or what ever the reason) and you want to return it, you can. I gave this four stars because it's not a nice thick V like on the re-issue or 50's pro strats and the nut needs to be replaced... but, this neck comes as close to a soft V as you are going to get with a 9.5 radius and most others claiming the same are not even close. Save your dough and spring for this neck for all your builds or replacements. You won't be sorry you did. ...I would however like to see a soft V neck with a rosewood fret board and 9.5 or 12 radius. Anyway, good job on this neck Fender!

I got a great neck for a great price. I was fortunate enough to have found this on their outlet. I also had reward dollars to use.

The quality is excellent but I have CV 50's strat with a thicker neck. This neck measures .890 at the 12th fret . There's no site that gives this info. Also the nut has to be slotted which requires experience and tools, or a trip to your tech. If you hate fat necks this is for you.
