Exploring the California Player Series | Fender Acoustics | Fender

Description

The Fender California Malibu Player acoustic-electric guitar features an exclusive small-body shape with a short scale that gives it a slightly slinkier feel, encouraging you to reach for new chords and melodies. It looks as stunning as it sounds, with a gloss metallic solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, as well as a matching painted 6-in-line headstock and crème binding giving it a shot of electrifying attitude. The bold style and balanced, articulate sound make the Malibu Player a natural partner on stage and in the studio.

Fishman Preamp System Provides Natural Plugged-In Tone

The Malibu Player's Fishman preamp system makes it easy to plug in without sacrificing the guitar's natural acoustic sound. Treble, Bass and Volume controls let you dial in your tone and an easy-to-read digital tuner aids onstage tuning.

Slim-Taper Neck Profile Suits Any Playing Style

The Malibu Player's lightweight mahogany neck features a comfortable, easy-to-play, slim-taper C-shaped profile suitable for any playing style. Its walnut fingerboard and bridge further augment this instrument's vibrant tone.

Optimized Bracing and NuBone Nut/Saddle Provide Superior Resonance and Sustain

The Malibu Player features optimized bracing for reduced mass and superior resonance, as well as a Graph Tech NuBone nut and saddle for greater sustain.

I absolutely love this guitar. I have the arctic white. It's easy to play, is a good acoustic and a great electric acoustic. Since it's a travel size, it's my pick to take to church in my little car. And someone else mentioned that they haven't had to tune it very much... It's absolutely the truth. If you're considering it, buy it. You won't regret it.

I've owned this guitar for the last three years and it was the best mistake I've ever made in my life. I meant to get a Newporter, but was drunk and ordered this one instead by accident. I'm a short guy and was immediately blown away by how sturdy and beautifully built it is. The 24.1" scale is magic to play even at 5'3" tall with 7" hands. I worry about hitting my furniture with this thing cause I'm afraid I'm gonna hurt the furniture. It's a little quiet when not plugged in, but this is an electric guitar in disguise. The mahogany channels sound like a lightning rod and makes this sound like a Jaguar when plugged in. Maybe better. Do yourself a favor and pick one up. You'll be straight up missing out if you don't. Also, way to go fish-man. Those cats know how to build a pickup. It sounds like a 60's surf machine no matter what I've ever plugged it into. P.s. I've had to tune this thing like …6 times in the last 3 years. I'd say the tuning is pretty stable… and I'm a perfectionist FYI.

This is my favorite guitar. I've been playing and accumulating guitars for 35 years, this one by far gets played the most. I've restrung it with nylon strings, and it's very comfortable and easy playing. It's not too fancy so I don't mind banging it around, and durable enough that it still looks brand new after hundreds of hours of playing. The sound is just okay unplugged, the sturdy paint job dulls the tone. But plugged in it sounds great.

Absolutely love it! Great sound. Fenders fret ends are the smoothest I've seen. I keep it right next to me for easy picking. I'm using the new Fender Micro and couldn't be happier with the sound. I had a Fender Malibu Alkaline Trio and loved it too. Sorry I let it go. This is my third Fender acoustic. Also have a Paramount TE. When I picked up this little Malibu in the store I couldn't put it down. There were other shoppers looking at guitars and I kept this one tucked into 'my' spot so they couldn't take it. Love all the colors. Thanks Fender!
