Fender California Malibu Classic Acoustic-Electric Guitar Hot Rod Red Metallic
True creativity requires something new, something like the inspiring sound and feel of the Fender California Series Malibu Classic. The exclusive small-body shape’s short scale gives it a slightly "slinkier" feel, encouraging you to reach for new chords and melodies.
The Malibu Classic exudes elegance and class with an unexpected style that is sure to turn heads wherever you go. Its no-compromise attitude even extends to its top-notch build quality, which features optimized bracing for reduced mass and superior resonance and an upgraded bone nut and saddle for exceptional sustain. It also comes equipped with a premium Fender- and Fishman-designed preamp system voiced specifically for the Malibu’s body shape, allowing you to plug in to an amplifier without sacrificing the guitar’s natural sound.
The lightweight mahogany neck of the Malibu Classic features a comfortable, easy-to-play, slim-taper “C”-shaped profile suitable for any playing style, and its pau ferro fingerboard and bridge further augment this instrument’s rich tone. With its superb playability, distinctive looks and unmistakable Fender vibe, the Malibu Classic is an instrument that defies expectations and stands out from the sea of traditional acoustics.

The Fender web site said this was a fingerstyle guitar and I've looking one. Simply said, they are correct. This is a great great feeling fingerstyle guitar. The sound is broad. I especially like the slender neck. Attractive Red which I feel the painted surface does not take away from the sound.
Best guitar I've owned

I bought the red guitar when it was on a Stupid Deal Of The Day sale. I've previously owned an Epiphone Masterbuilt, but I think this one sounds much better. I'm also 6'4 and thought maybe it would be too small of a guitar or that I'd look like a giant playing a ukulele, but the size is not an issue. It's definitely a guitar I like to play and it's one that I want to show off.
Great buy on a great sounding guitar.

Can you describe the blemish? I don't see it in the pics.
Unfortunately additional pictures are unavailable. Blemishes are slight and do not affect the tone or play ability of the instrument.submitted6 years ago

Does the California Malibu guitar have batteries installed? Someone is storing their guitar at my home and I wondered if there were batteries that needed to be removed for storage.
Yes there are batteries, but as long as the guitar is kept in a temperature controlled area (meaning not by a heating/ac vent or by a window) then the battery should be fine to store with the guitar.
