    This nut fits perfectly on my American Vintage '57 Reissue and did not need any modifying at all. Fit nice and snug straight from the package to the nut slot. Although I didn't replace the nut on my American Vintage '62 Reissue the dimensions are the same. This is your one stop nut for those particular necks.

    It would be helpful to know for those who have not replaced a nut before that this requires modification to fit in the slot as well as get the nut action correct. The overall installation was not difficult, I was just expecting something that was "plug and play" as far as slot fitment goes. The nut works as it should and the bass plays 100x better than the old worn original one.
