Kenny Wayne Shepherd Introduces the Fender American Professional Stratocaster
The fat-sounding ShawBucker humbucking bridge pickup is joined by tone wizard Tim Shaw’s latest vintage-informed design—the V-Mod single-coil pickups. These brand-new pickups are voiced specifically for each position, mixing alnico magnet types to produce powerful, nuanced tones with original Fender sonic DNA. Retain high end clarity when adjusting the volume controls, thanks to the new treble-bleed tone circuit that lets your tone shine through in all its glory. The new modern “Deep C”-shaped neck profile feels just right in your hand while the narrow-tall frets make it easy to bend strings accurately and play perfectly intonated chords.
The best of yesterday and today, the American Professional Stratocaster HSS Shawbucker is the latest form of electric inspiration from Fender. Step up and stake your claim to a legend.

Great guitar. I enjoy playing it. I would buy again!!
I play a number of instruments and in a band that play music from the '60's, '70's and '80's, and decided it was time to step it up in terms purchasing a USA made guitar. I looked at PRS, Gibson and Fender. I looked at the Gibson Les Paul and it was a disappointment for me. The weight, the tuning issues, and the finish quality of the Gibson is lacking unless you are willing to spend more than $2,300.00. I looked at the PRS and while it is a great instrument, the Fender HSS Shawbucker setup cannot be beat. Now, the Fender Telecaster American Professional. I got one with 22 fret, HSS Shawbucker, in 3-color Sunburst, with a Rosewood fretboard. The fit and finish is outstanding. The quality of the woods is top shelf. The neck is perfect. The deep-C profile makes it easy to play. The pickups make playing any genre of music easy. The bridge pickup can give you that hard rock growl and the five position pickup switch gives flexibility that is a perfect match for any amp, but even more so my Fender Twin Reverb. There are a few other cool features, like the the pop-in tremelo bar, the bone nut, the tuners were smooth and stayed tight and in tune, the tremelo system is easy to adjust and the treble-bleed circuit evens out the sound. Even the case is first-class and beats out anything Gibson matches up with its guitars. In summary, the Fender Stratocaster American Professional's action is like butter, the quality of the build and materials are top notch and it is worth every penny spent. You can't go wrong buying it.

Big Disappointment
I have been playing for years and have several guitars. I have always wanted an American Stratocaster, I have always had lower end model guitars, not low quality, just affordable like my Epiphone Les Paul and Squire Strat. I decided to treat myself and I ordered a American Professional Stratocaster, rosewood Fretboard, HSS, Sonic Gray. My new guitar arrived and first thin I noticed was how sharp the fret edges were. I played for about 20 minutes and put it down, my index finger felt so scrapped up. I looked and there was a cut on my finger. I tried to play again and it is just not enjoyable at all , fret edges are so sharp. None of my lower end guitars have this problem, I expected the best neck ever and got absolute poor quality. The strings it had on the guitar seemed really old, maybe several years. I changed them and it still sucks. I will be returning , I tried to by phone my return and refund could take a month to process or I could wait for the local store to open back up. I was hoping to spend my time in Quarantine playing a quality American Fender guitar. A little side note, the instruction manual is written in Spanish except for the warranty which is in English. All other information in the manual is all Spanish.

I sold my mexican strat which was so nice to play, unlike this the American pro. I was very surprised at the action on this strat was not good, and the tremlo was advertised as a pop in, and the one i received was a screw in. i own Fender American basses which are awesome. If you have an older mexican strat... Keep it! the electronics are better on the American, hands down... but the playability was not as i expected like on the Mexican version and the Fender American basses. GC returned it no questions which i appreciated.

I've bought numerous guitars and this is by far the best. Opened the case, checked the tunings and played for 2 hours non stop and it stayed in tune the whole time. The pick up let you play about ant style of music and the shawbucker really lets those pinched harmonics loose all over the neck. Not one bad thing to say about this guitar.
I would buy it again but would check the frets better .

First of all the frets are very rough . So I'm not impressed with that and am hoping I can take it to guitar center and get it fixed. Other than that I do love it sounds great.
Huge improvement!

This is one of the best Fenders I have picked up. Blows away all other configurations! The fourth position is the sweet spot with the classic strat sound, coupled with the fender blues deluxe 3 tube amp. Very distinct. The action was set a little high from the factory, so I dropped the strings two full turns on each bridge string saddle to a perfect non fret buzz height. Awesome!

H ow bad is the blemish, size, location? Can it be repaired?
Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what the blemish is. However, it would only be a minor cosmetic flaw and would not effect the guitars play ability.submitted6 years ago

I´ll be in NY from Oct 27 to 29 , if the web page says that it can be delivered in 7 days so should I make the purchase on the 20th , or you can hold it for some days until I arrive.
The stores will hold the item for 2 weeks after it arrives, but a lot of times you can reach out to the store after the order and arrange it for a few days longer if needed.
