Description

Instantly comfortable with irresistible tone and playability, this premium model has a sweet neck with hand-rolled edges to make it play fast, smooth, and sweet. SCN (Samarium Cobalt Noiseless) pickups dish out vintage Strat sounds without the hum, while a hot bridge pickup and S-1 switching provide extra punch and sustain. Classically contoured ash body fits like a glove. Other features include polished chrome, locking machine heads, American Deluxe tremolo with polished steel saddles, highly detailed fret and nut work, abalone dot inlays, and aged plastic parts.

I fell in love with the cherry burst with maple neck. It is finely crafted guitar. The feel and the looks are stunning. The fret board is super smooth - the best I've ever laid my hands on.I also own a Lonestar Strat with Seymour Duncans but it is a cut below the Deluxe but fun to play nonetheless. The sound/tone are too die for BUT the tone controls have to be all the way to 10- maxed out in order to get the shimmer and chime. I am not sure if it is because the nature of the SCN pickups or the choice of capacitors Fender used in these guitars. Lower the tone and you get a MUDDY tone. The wiring is another issue. In a non-S1 set-up the tone control cloests to the bridge pickup controls only the bridge. Not so with this guitar, the bridge tone control also controls the middle pickup so that if you playing lead with the bridge at 5 on the tone control and switch to position 2 (neck +mid pick ups), your tone will be MUDDY unless you go back and max out the bridge tone control. FENDER, ARE YOU LISTENING? If these issues are corrected,in my opinion, the Fender Strat Ash Deluxe will shame all the Les Pauls and PRS out there no matter what price tag they bear. SO GET TO WORK FENDER. Would also help if you can post the wiring diagrams of the wiring upgrade.

I was very fortunate to get the ash body, Madeira sunburst, with rosewood neck before Fender stopped making them. Finish is beautiful. Sound is clean with a capital "C". From the factory, the action and intonation is near perfect. I play it through a Vox AC30. If you belong to the Fender club, this is a must have addition to your collection. If you've never owned a Strat, buy this one. Is it the best guitar in the world? I don't know. Is it the best that I have played? Yes! And I've been playing for 50 years.

I am so glad that I bought this guitar, I absolutely love to play it, and I dont get tired after hours of play. I have been a les paul player for 20 years and have been loyal to gibson, but no more, I will play nothing else.

SImply put-the best strat I have ever played, hands down. The sound of this guitar is fantastic, the S-1 switch adds quite a dimension to it, it can really help to "beef up" your sound, especially when playing in a trio when you need a little more heaviness to your tone. The neck shape is superb, and the ash body is fantastic. I couldn't be happier with this guitar!
