Description
The Fender Jazz Bass was first introduced in 1960. Since then it has become an industry standard for pumping out the low end. Now Fender has unveiled the 50th anniversary electric bass, showing that this 4-string bass has not only stood the test of time, but will be around for many years to come. First introduced as a deluxe model, the Fender Jazz bass featured a brighter and richer midrange for players who wanted to stand out more in the mix. As such, many prominent bassists have donned a Fender J-bass around their neck to get their ultimate signature sound. These include such notables as Jaco Pastorius, Larry Graham, Noel Redding, John Paul Jones, and Geddy Lee, just to name a few.
The Fender 50th Anniversary Jazz Bass was designed with the same specs and features as the original, delivering that killer look, feel, and mojo. It's a true player.
The alder body provides strength and plenty of depth to the tone. The "C" shape maple neck, 34" scale, and 20 medium jumbo give comfort and fluency to your playing, so you can move easily across the rosewood fingerboard for quick, intricate riffs. The High-Mass Vintage bridge features a string-thru design and nickel-plated brass saddles. At the heart of this anniversary bass is the electronics system. It sports two '75 vintage jazz bass single-coil pickups, which add a subtle brightness to your tone, much more so than traditional humbuckers. The controls stay true to the original bass design, with a tone control, and neck and bridge pickup volume controls.
Other features include vintage tuning keys with tapered shafts, 1.5" nut width, Lacquer finish, Posiflex graphite neck support rods, white pearloid block position markers, '70s bridge pickup spacing, bass-side thumb rest, factory-mounted chrome bridge and pickup covers, rolled fingerboard edges, and a collectable 50th anniversary Fender Jazz Bass brochure to round out the package.
