Excellent Quality Neck with Vintage Feel

The essential features of the neck were in perfect order: the neck was finished in a smooth, transparent gloss. The frets were level and crowned. The neck was straight and ready to be adjusted to preference. The pilot drill holes at the heel were in alignment with the existing holes in my telecaster body. However, there is some minor work to be done: (1) the nut is not finished. It is pre-slotted but you'll have to adjust the depth of the slots using gauged nut files, or a similar tool; (2) in my case, the holes for the tuners were a slightly narrow for the vintage-style bushing. However, using a reamer or similar tool, it's easy to widen the holes enough for the bushing to snuggly drop in. If you enjoy the feel of a vintage neck profile, this is a perfect example. As a bonus, unlike the true vintage radius of 7.25, the fretboard radius of this model is a modern 9.5, so you can do all your bending acrobatics without choking the notes. The trade copy doesn't do enough to point out this feature.

Received it as promised, the frets were level and smooth, no sharp ends, required no dressing. I put it on a Squier Telecaster, had to slightly elongate (2mm) 2 holes in the guitar body. Vintage style tuners fit prefectly. Be advised the truss rod adjustment (like in 1951) is in the body end of the neck. I have 35 guitars and with the further addition of Nocaster pickups, this is definitly now one of my favorites.

VERY close to the custom shop '51 neck. As long as you understand what you are getting is the super thick 51 neck, you'll be fine.

This is the HUGE '51 Telecaster neck with almost no taper. It can involve a fair amount of getting used to. Once you get used to it, the comfort and playability for rhythm playing is very good. I put this neck on a semi hollow Tele thinline project and it greatly improved the tone and balance of the guitar. If you play clean rhythm and fills this is a very stable neck with good sustain. This is not for your van halen cover band.
