Evans UV1 Coated Drum Head

Evans UV1 Coated Drum Head

EVANS

Description

This EVANS drum head is a result of years of research, testing and product development. Featuring the latest innovation from D’Addario, this drum head is the very first to market with patented UV-cured coating. It is the most consistently applied coating ever seen on a drumhead.

These heads are an extremely durable alternative in comparison to other traditional coatings. This is a great solution for drummers who are tired of flaked, chipped and worn-out coating. It has the added benefit of increased surface texture making it extremely responsive and sensitive for brush playing.

I formerly played Remo, but this head has made me an Evans fan. I put these on a few different kits, and the best use that I could think would be smaller jazz kits. They give nice overtones, but with some added punch. I have to say that after all of the hype, Evans really has a game changer with this head. The coating is still on after about 6 months whereas my coated Emperors started to show signs of use after 6 minutes. So all I can say is good job Evans! I will for sure be buying more heads from you in the future!

  • i would buy these heads again.

This particular rod configuration is one of my favorite choices for live music in the venue I play in; a church, un-miced. Good control and the length allows me the good reach/attack to play both under (left) hand and, over-hand grip.

  • Nice alternative to a G1.

I purchased a 12 and 14. In my opinion the uv1 is a tad brighter than a g1. I used these on a Gretsch Catalina Club tuned on the high side for jazz trio work. I like it.
