Epiphone Thunderbird PRO IV Vintage Burst Bass
Super smooth and fast shipment from Guitar Center. This is supposed to be used. It is in perfect condition and workmanship outstanding. Epiphone really nailed it with this one. Almost got the Gib version but the price dind't fit. Took a chance and glad I did. This is so much beyond that. Tonal and playing. I have a bunch of basses from Gretsch, Hofner, Fender, other Epi's, (once had a T-bird Goth, not even close to the PRO), JT's, SX's, Douglas and other Asian makes. This T-bird PRO is outstanding.

Epi T-bird Pro
I wanted to love this bass so much. I had been waiting for 9 months from when I first saw it in the trades. Do not get me wrong, I love the way it plays and sounds but the oil finish looks much better in the pictures than in person. The oil finish version of the T-Bird Pro has more of an unfinished look than an oil finish. The neck and the cut away edges are very rough to the look and to the touch. The roughness of the neck makes it almost unplayable. I plan to return it and trade it for the Sunburst finish model. Bottom line: Love the bass but not the finish.

So this bass is amazing. I went from an old Ibanez TR series to this Thunderbird and I don't regret it. I've played the fender jaguar and I like the sound of this thunderbird more. However the pickups do tend to buzz on higher frequencies but that's a small complaint.
Great addition to the instrument collection

My son purchased this guitar with the money he received for Christmas and his birthday. He spent hours in various Guitar Centers playing this guitar and another one he was thinking about. He loved the natural finish this guitar was offered in. Since neither his dad or I were guitar players we let him decide. His daddy thought he was crazy to spend the money on a new guitar. However, when he received it and played it for the first time, his daddy understood. My son finds it much easier to play then the Yamaha model he used to own and the tone is so much better. We are having an issue with the frets buzzing. Hoping to take it our local Guitar Center this week to see what we can do.
Physically excellent, electrically terrible (noisy)

The bass I received was very nice from a physical/mechanical standpoint. The fit and finish was flawless. The tuners were smooth and worked well. It played well, and the neck and bridge were set up properly. The design of the neck and body are are solid and comfortable to play. The neck design with the alternating walnut and maple makes for a very nice looking instrument. I loved this bass until I plugged it in. The bass that I received had a very bad problem with pickup of interference through the air - resulting in humming, buzzing, etc. (The technical terminology for this is that it had a high susceptibility to radiated electromagnetic interference. I am an electrical engineer and have done some work in this field.) It intermittently had the problem even while I kept my hand on the strings, with multiple known-good cords, 3 different amps, different locations, etc. The noise varied as I moved around and pointed the Thunderbird in different directions. It was there with the tone controls flat (on the detents). It was much noisier than my other guitars with humbucking pickups (two Les Pauls and a Washburn HB35) in the same place, using the same amps and cords. The venue where I play (church) is an electrically noisy environment, and it was basically unusable there. The sound also cut out on me a couple of times. I took it to Guitar Center. The tech probed around in the electronics cavity, and didn't find any problems. Interestingly, it wasn't noisy while at Guitar Center. GC may be careful with their lighting, etc. to have a low noise environment, or it was just luck. According to online reviews and forums, this symptom is not uncommon with this model. I don't know if they are all this way (poor design), or if this was just a common defect. I returned mine, and exchanged it for the lower model (passive). It is great - no noise at all, and still pretty nice.
I would recommend to any beginner or intermediate bassist.

Great guitar for the money! I would recommend this to anyone! It's also a good second bass as it is very well rounded.
Bought as a gift, but I want one for myself now!

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend who had an Epiphone Thunderbird years ago but had to sell it. He's in love with it, and so am I! This thing is so lightweight and it feels like they scaled it down from the original. My hands are super small but love large bodied guitars like the Firebird so to have one a little smaller is a godsend. Probably the only con I have is that the colors are not as bright as the picture shows, the sunburst comes out a little darker than expected.
A really good bass.

This a great bass to pick up. it has nice smooth deep tones that makes you want to play for hours. The only bad thing is i would not play gigs with this as it does have some weight to it. After a while standing you Will feel it. It's perfect for studio or home play. I haven't stopped playing with it since i picked it up.
