Epiphone Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 Acoustic Guitar Natural

The first “100” series guitar, the Epiphone DR-100 “Dreadnought” style, has been Epiphone’s best-selling acoustic guitar for over a decade and is renown for its bold tone. The new AJ-100 "Advanced Jumbo" or sloped shoulder acoustic guitar is just as famous for having a slightly sweeter tone that’s perfect for both leading a band and for solo singers.
The AJ-100 features a mahogany body and a select spruce top, one of the premier tonewoods for superior acoustic sound. The select spruce top is braced internally in the same style as vintage "Advanced Jumbo" guitars to give the AJ-100 its trademark up-front tone. The mahogany neck has a SlimTaper "D" profile that’s easy to hold for long hours of play. The neck is glued to the body and hand-set so the entire guitar resonates as if it were a single piece of wood. The Mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with a 12 in. radius and 20 Medium Jumbo frets. The bigger the frets, the easier it is on your fingers when learning to press down strings and form chords. The neck is fully adjustable via a truss rod under the traditional Epiphone & Gibson "bell-shaped" cover. The AJ-100 also has a rosewood bridge with a compensated saddle for consistent intonation.
Tuning the Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 is easy with Epiphone machine heads with a 14:1 that make learning to tune easy, intuitive, and best of all–fast and accurate.

Unreal deal and sounded as good or better than the solid top models in the $300 to $700 range. Neck needs a bit of set up with saddle, low action, but overall of the money pretty stunning!!
An excellent starter guitar

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my nine-year-old daughter. She has shown a lot of interest in guitar and this seems like a great place to start. The neck seems slim but I'm hoping it's not too large of an instrument for her. There are some very minor imperfections on the finish and the tuning keys seem rather cheap but when you consider the price being so low, you can't lose. I'm very particular so the issues that I just mentioned will probably go unnoticed by a beginner or possibly even an experienced player. The guitar looks extremely nice and sounds good even with the factory strings. I stay loyal to Epiphone and this guitar is a great example of why I will continue to do so.
Excellent sound...but lacks quality control entirely.

The AJ-100 sounds good for the price, and action is reasonable with a few tweaks of the truss rod. It has a Gibson tone, but I only rated it as 3 stars because of the very poor fit and finish, and lack of quality build. Excessive glue splotches inside the body, and a neck is not mounted straight to the body. Hopefully it will not implode. This could be a great guitar if only Epiphone would decide to put some quality control into their Chinese factory. Quality control seems entirely nonexistant in China on this model. But it makes a good camping guitar, because it is all laminated, and will hold up well in dry and moist humidity conitions.
Works for what it is ... or, rather, what I'm using it for .

I gave my other beater guitar, a Fender, to my a niece, and figured I'd try an Epi this time around ... It's OK for what it is: a guitar that if someone knocked it into the bonfire at the beach, I wouldn't wig out over it ... the fret work on the edges of the neck was a little rough, but it's tone is acceptable, and it is playable.

What does level 2 mean? What should I expect?
Level 2 is gear returned in great condition, with only minor signs of use, such as slight scuffs or pick marks. It looks and plays like new and may be considered an equivalent to display units found in retail stores.
