The tone is excellent, it can be very clean if set right but tends to favor distortion. Biggest selling point is defiantly the body style, while rare in bass is still very much iconic. The finish is very resistant surviving all my accidents with no visible damage. Strap locks are a must fore aggressive playing. Hardware is very set and the pick up selector and tone nobs allow a lot of variety. Another note on hardware is it is all gold making the guitar very eye catching. A negative to note is frets are silver witch is a bit of a letdown at first. Bridge is very unique. All together the bass is a great buy for all but master bassists.

Yea!!!! Epiphone finally listened!!!!!! So tired of those cookie cutter basses where each one looks the same. I have mine on order. I love my Explorer, Thunderbird and Les Paul and FINALLY a FLYING V!!!!! My Epi's have a deep, rich sound that when played thru an Acoustic 8x10 cabinet will rattle your back teeth. I've had a V before and loved it, not only the sound but those unique looks. And the headstock is perfect for that shape, unlike the kid's toy look of the other guys

I was looking for a gibson or epiphone Flying V bass so badly and now they decide to do it again, with that kind of shape in a bass you will never, ever look bad on stage, besides this bass gives me more sustain than epiphone thunderbird and the pickups are more agressive even with new strings both guitars, buy it, because if epiphone decides to don̴t make this things again, it wall pass years or maybe a decade or two, bass players GO BUY IT!!! one of a kind
