Good First Guitar

The guitar is surprisingly awesome for the price, however, the amp sucked and didn't have the power I needed for a rad sound. I used a Fender Frontman 15w amp for a while (that amp isn't very good either, but better than this one) and it sounded decent. Just recently however, I got a Peavey Vypyr X1, which is a totally rad amp, and it sounds *bleep*-ing awesome. The point is, the guitar sounds really good on different amps, and is definitely a good beginner guitar. The strap it came with was pretty good up until the holes in the strap wore off, but this took like 2 years so... Anyways, this guitar was pretty good for the money, and the strap too, the picks are pretty decent and the cable for the amp sucked (i suggest getting a fender one, those are pretty decent cables). The guitars pickupscreated a perfect sound for punk, which is what I mostly play anyways, and I find that this bad boy can get the highs and lows needed for that sound, it's also excellent for blues and metal (actually a really good metal guitar as well). Anyways, this guitar is a wonderful guitar to purchase for a beginner, the pickups are stellar, and the craftsmanship is pretty decent too (except for fret buzz from the 12th fret on) This guitar didn't seem to require too much of a setup, just a restringing and a few days of tuning the *bleep* out of it. I would highly recommend this guitar if you are on a budget and just starting to learn.

My epiphone Les Paul review

I haven't picked up a guitar in well over a decade. I wanted to see if I could get the motivation to play again so I wanted to buy something that wouldn't break the bank. The guitar seems pretty solid it plays nicely and doesn't sound bad. Feels good in my hands. The strings that came on it felt a bit cheap so I bought some upgraded ones and they feel much better. The amp is fine for now but if I continue to play as I'm hoping I will definitely be upgrading it.

Pretty good for use, a few very minor inconveniences but so far so good. I would recommend this to many beginners. I bought it in last minute before the store closed and the employees were pretty nice. I have yet to see where I will go with this guitar and the bundle and what's ahead.

The nut width of a guitar neck doesn't vary all that much. This will be good.

At 82, retired; bored, and lover of mostly blues guitar music, I was considering buying a beginners model to start picking up some chords and scales to see if it works for me. I have long fingers but my pinky is a bit challenged with an troublesome ulmer nerve. . . .yet somewhat/mostly useable. Getting to the point; While I would prefer a basic Squire Telecaster, under the circumstances. . . . would a Squier 24-Inch Short Scale Strat OR Epiphone Les Paul Special-II E1 24.75 be a better choice? Thank you Donald

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
I’m very sorry. Your question is not clear. 24" is not short scale. We don't have a Mini Telecaster. We have Mini Strat at 22.75" That being said, the scale length doesn't affect your fingers. Go with a full scale Strat.

Yes it is. I'm small and was playing a fat body acoustic when I was nine. She'll love it. Have fun.
