Description
This Guitar Center-exclusive Epiphone Hummingbird Pro-12 dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar in a Faded Cherry finish gives you 12-string tone and versatility. Its solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides produce a bold yet balanced sound suited to folk, rock and pop. Shadow's Fishman Presys VT preamp and Sonicore undersaddle pickup provide plugged-in performance so you can amplify your sound on stage through any PA or acoustic amp.
Premium Tonewoods for Resonant 12-String Sound
The Hummingbird Pro-12's solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides create a resonant dreadnought tone that rings clearly with 12-string jangle and chime. As you play, the spruce top opens up to enhance rich overtones and sustain. The mahogany body adds midrange punch and clarity. Together, these tonewoods give you a famously bold yet balanced 12-string acoustic sound.
Professional-Grade Shadow Electronics
The Hummingbird Pro-12 comes equipped with Fishman Sonitone electronics to amplify its all-acoustic tone. The Sonitone preamp provides simple volume and tone controls to shape your sound. The Sonicore undersaddle pickup accurately captures the guitar's resonance and dynamics. Plug in to shine on stage through any PA or acoustic amp.
Timeless Style
Beyond its tone, the Hummingbird Pro-12 carries iconic 1960s-inspired features. These include a sloped "dovewing" headstock, split-parallelogram pearloid inlays, multi-ply body binding and the distinct hummingbird pickguard artwork. A rosewood bridge, compensated saddle and die-cast tuners provide lasting 12-string intonation. The dreadnought body and 1.68" nut width deliver familiar 12-string playability.

I wouldn't buy it again

I use it in my home studio. It's beautiful, but I don't like the feel of playing it, it doesn't compare to the sound I get from slightly more expensive guitars from Yamaha and Ovation, it feels like a cheap guitar (which it sort sort of is, but I was expecting more from Epiphone). Maybe the $800+ version and definitely the actual Gibson will sound better, but my next 12-string will probably be an Ovation, my 6-string one sounds perfect.
Near Gibson sound and looks

Decided it was time to get a 12 string. I didn't want to go overboard on price given it is intended to be used on a handful of songs. This one is the perfect blend of value and playability. You won't be disappointed.
Epiphone 12-string is a delight!

Was trading in an old Yamaha 12, wanted to upgrade without going crazy. The Epiphone Hummingbird 12-string plays beautifully, I can't believe how good the action is and the sound is tremendous. A great guitar at the price point that it is offered.
Great 12 string for the low cost

The specifications in the Q and A below are wrong. This is a solid top and laminated back. I'm guessing the sides are laminated based on the 6-string Hummingbird Pro specs. The setup was pretty good from the factory and will only need a small adjustment. It sounds fantastic like all 12s do. For the money, this is a fantastic guitar to introduce yourself to 12 strings and in my case probably the only one I'll need since my 6 string will likely be my main instrument. I haven't had a chance to plug into an amp so I can't comment on the electronics right now. I will edit my response when I get the chance.
Merry Christmas to me

Right now I am just playing for my on pleasure and bought this guitar to try my hand at a 12 string. It is a beautiful piece and has an incredible sound. I hope one day soon my playing will let it ring clear. It is just such a classic look. I watched a country music special last night and I believe every 4th performer had a Hummingbird. The people at Guitar Center are always great to do business with.

What is the difference in this guitar and the Epiphone Hummingbird 12 string that sells for $899.00? The only difference I see is the white color on the back where the neck joins the body. All of the other ads for this guitar are listed at 899.00 USD.
