Epiphone

collapse expand iconDescription

The classic Dove-style acoustic first introduced at the legendary Gibson and Epiphone factory in Kalamazoo in 1962, became one of the first acoustic guitars to become a recognized rock-and-roll icon. Now, both beginners and professionals can enjoy the classic sound of The Dove plugged in with the Fishman Sonitone soundhole preamp and Fishman Sonicore pickup system, designed and built with the integrity you expect from Epiphone.

Unplugged, the Epiphone Dove Studio can easily drive an acoustic band. But plugged in, the Dove Studio can hold its own with drums and electric guitars thanks to its onboard Fishman Sonitone preamp and Sonicore pickup.

Case sold separately.

Epiphone Dove Guitar

Was a little hesitant to order a guitar I have not played or heard. After reading all the specifications (which seemed to fulfill the needs I was looking for) I decided to order the guitar. I am a 73 year old man who has played guitar since I was 9 years old. Over the years I have owned many guitars Rickenbacker, Guild, Taylor, Martin, and many others. I play praise and worship, modern gospel and country gospel so was looking for a good acoustic/electric guitar. Upon receiving the Epiphone Dove guitar I was very satisfied with it's form and fit everything was in excellent condition. The dove is a very attractive guitar all features exceeded my expectations. Acoustically the sound is better than expected for a guitar in this price range and as good if not better than some of the more expensive guitars I have played over the years. Amplified the dove sounds fantastic crisp and clear with a satisfying range treble too bass. Playing this guitar is a pleasure a good feel. As I had done to every guitar I've owned I did drop the action down just a wee bit for my ease of play. Our Lord willing I look forward to playing this guitar for a few more good years. It is one of the nicest guitars I've owned/played.

Quality is slipping at Epiphone/Gibson

neck has so much flex at the body it's hard to keep in tune and keep getting string buzz no matter how the neck is set.

I received the guitar from my wife for a Christmas gift. I was injured in Iraq several years ago and now in a wheelchair. My wife was looking for something to help with my pain. I haven't played in 30 years so I was excited to get back into playing again. It sounds great and looks awesome. It has also helped beyond words for my pain and stress.

Beautiful guitar, plays great, and sounds perfect. The electronics are good. The finish is flawless, but mine isn't much of a burst, more of a solid tabacco. The frets are a gold color, not silver like the rest. I just love it. New strings and it was ready to go.

I was impressed by the setup right out ot the box. This was an open box unit. I found the action and string balance to be unbeliveable, easy on the fingers and set as well as any of my guitars. I have a few. Martins, Gibsons, Ovations, Epiphones, They are all nice and sometimes hard to decide on use. But this little Epiphone Dove was a true eyeopener. Playability, sound, action and touchability was suprising. Remember this was a piece someone had opened and decided they werent satisfied. I don't know maybe it was a display model. Doesn.t matte. I like it !!!

  • Great sound!

Love it and would give 5 stars if it were not for a noticeable scratch on the back. Sure it happened during shipping because there was a cut in the box exactly where the scratch was. Still plays great and has a warm vibrant sound.

How long does it take to get a new shipment in when it is on backorder? Is it because there is greater demand than supply?

Open box guitars may have some cosmetic damage on them, but it's never anything that effects how it plays. The warranty is still intact and in my opinion it's a good way to go to ensure you get a bit more guitar for your money.
