I use this pedal for all of my gigging situations. I play in a band that does shows in medium to large bars, large ballrooms and large outdoor events and the Empress Bass Compressor is a game changer at all of my gigs. I've known that I've needed a compressor pedal for quite some time now and I've tried two different big name brand compressor pedals that are popular with other bassists, but I found they made very little difference in my sound, so I sold them. I've been reluctant to try another compressor pedal, but after doing a bit of research and hearing great things about the Empress Bass Compressor I figured that I would give it a shot. Best decision ever! I play in a variety band (I'd even call it a wide variety band), so I play with a variety of techniques: soft touch fingerstyle for our country songs and classic rock, really digging in fingerstyle for our heavier and rap songs and slap for some of our pop songs. My output level was all over the place, but this pedal really level things out for me. I've always been pleased with my tone, but this pedal took my tone to a whole nother level!! I just can't say enough good things about this compressor. I highly recommend it to anyone for any situation.
