Electro-Voice

collapse expand iconDescription

This highly portable, column-style PA system delivers an uncompromising combination of low-profile aesthetics and superior audio performance. Designed for quick and easy assembly, the EVOLVE 50 delivers up to 1,000 watts of room-filling sound virtually anywhere you need it. The symmetrical aluminum subwoofer pole with an integrated wire assembly makes setup a breeze, while a magnetic assist latch securely locks the sub pole in place. This is the white version. For a black version, see SKU#113707210.

The full-range column array of eight 3.5" neodymium drivers are directed using custom-designed waveguides for consistent 120° coverage. Providing the low-end punch for the EVOLVE 50 is a 12" ferrite woofer, which is housed in a ported, wooden subwoofer enclosure for optimal acoustic performance. A Class-D amplifier provides up to 1,000 watts of peak output power, distributing 500W to the subwoofer and 500W to the column array.

The input panel features EV’s industry-leading QuickSmartDSP interface—allowing intuitive navigation of system parameters via an LCD with single-knob control—as well as multiple options for signal routing and inputs.

The Electro-Voice QuickSmart Mobile application utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) technology for the wireless configuration, control, and monitoring of up to six EVOLVE 50 systems simultaneously. High-resolution Bluetooth audio streaming adds convenience for wireless music playback in breakout rooms, intermission and musical accompaniment.

Electro-Voice quality and testing procedures far exceed the industry norm to yield efficient and effective electro-acoustic performance. The result is the creation of components that deliver an accurate, linear response at the system’s highest output levels. When applied to EVOLVE 50, this engineering philosophy results in a system that brings a new sonic benchmark to the column speaker segment, all packaged in a sleek and portable enclosure that blends into the background in any application from a classy lounge to a wedding reception.

I have been using these for months now and I cannot find any fault in these. They look great, setup fast, don't weigh a ton, and most importantly they sound good. They do not pound the bass, so don't think you wouldn't benefit from a subwoofer. They get compliments regularly by the people I am hired to entertain.

I am a solo artist, working two or three times a week. I just love the sound I get from this speaker. I run my guitar and mic through a Soundcraft UI16 digital mixer into the Evolve 50. The energy I am able to get from nice lows on my Martin guitar, to sparkling highs on the guitar and my voice are rare with these tower style speaker systems. Tons of compliments from listeners. I set the speaker behind me and off to the side, I can hear the mix and have very little feedback issues. I use a Beta SM87A wirteless mic that has a super-cardiod pick up pattern, a cardiod mic (like the SM58) may not perform as well. I have also used an Audix OM5 cabled mic, with equally great results. On two occasions I used two Evolve 50's with a Turbosound IQ15 patched beside each speaker for band projects. Once again the sound quality was awersome. I highly recommend this speaker for solo artists.
