Electro-Voice

collapse expand iconDescription

The Electro-Voice ELX200-18SP 18" powered subwoofer delivers earth-shattering low end for your live performances and events. This professional-grade powered sub is a great addition from Electro-Voice, a brand renowned for engineering superior sound solutions. Paired with Electro-Voice's ELX200 full-range loudspeakers, the ELX200-18SP provides a powerful bass foundation to fill any venue with dynamic, crystal-clear audio.

1,600 Watts of Chest-Thumping Power

At the heart of the ELX200-18SP is a massive 1,200W amplifier that drives an 18" woofer to pump out seismic bass you can feel. The woofer's large surface area and deep excursion move lots of air to reproduce the lowest frequencies with authority. A built-in limiter helps prevent distortion even at high volumes, so you can unleash the full potential of this powerhouse sub without sacrificing sound quality.

Flexible Controls for Total Creative Freedom

The ELX200-18SP puts you in complete control of your low end. An adjustable high-pass filter lets you select the cutoff frequency that best matches your main speakers, while independent level control enables precise balancing. There's also a phase switch to correct for any timing issues between the sub and your tops. With so much flexibility at your fingertips, you have the freedom to optimize the ELX200-18SP for any live sound application.

Roadworthy Design Built to Last

Despite its formidable power, the ELX200-18SP is highly portable thanks to a durable wooden enclosure and recessed handles. It's built tough to withstand the rigors of live touring in any climate. The woofer itself features a weather-resistant cone and surround for outdoor use, while the amplifier includes protection against overheating, short-circuiting and more. With its rugged, roadworthy design, the ELX200-18SP delivers high performance anywhere your gigs take you.

The Perfect Mate for ELX200 Full-Range Loudspeakers

For the ultimate plug-and-play live rig, pair the ELX200-18SP with Electro-Voice's ELX200 series loudspeakers like the ELX200-15P and ELX200-12P. Their coaxial two-way designs provide wide, even coverage and their 1,200W Class-D amplifiers match perfectly with the power of the ELX200-18SP sub. Complete your system with speaker stands and cables.

    Better Than expected

So I have now been using this sub for a week, and to say I'm impressed is putting it lightly. I like it better than my EKX. I am so impressed with the sound quality, I am using it in my pro home audio system. This just has the sound quality that you are unable to get with home theater subwoofers. With the gain at zero and used in the Live setting, it's about as close as you can get to true audio reproduction. I have this paired up with my custom 2 way 12in mains, running of a Parasound Halo P5 and Anthem audio amp. Talk about drums, horns, bass, piano coming alive. The sound is scary real. My neighbor has over 20k in his home system, me about 6k. To say he is jealous and mad would be putting it mildly.I now have friends and family planning on getting one to use in there home systems. I could go on and on, but you really need to audition one for yourself to understand why this beast is so worth purchasing. If your a young person who only listens to rap or hip hop, them maybe get the QSC for twice the money. But if you listen to all kinds of music, and want true sound reproduction, this is the one for you.

    Disappointed.

Debating on if i want to go through the trouble to bring it back or use it for something else. I bought this with the intent to cover the basslines below 50hz and deeper for my home studio, hits the kick drum with punch and certain frequencys very well, but when it comes to low basslines it was a complete disappointment, not only is the spl not even there (sound pressure level) but the lows are barely even audible. Great for everything else but if youre a bass head looking for deep bass lines, 40hz and below, this aint the one.

Low end for the classic rock band I play on. Cabinet is light to carry and out out enough low end for the smaller clubs we play in.

The Mix Out on the Gemini should share the Bluetooth signal with this subwoofer.
