collapse expand iconDescription

The Electro-Harmonix Micro Stereo Pulsar Tremolo Effects Pedal is everything you love about the Pulsar in a small, die-cast aluminum package.

Controls:
Wave shape switch ” selects between the wave triangle mode and the square wave mode.
Shape knob ” changes the shape of the waveform that modulates the tremolo. Wave triangle mode ” as the shape knob is turned from the counter clockwise (minimum) position to the center (middle) position, the wave starts as a rising sawtooth and becomes a triangle. From
the center position to the clockwise (maximum) position, the wave changes from a triangle to a falling sawtooth. Square wave mode ” as the shape knob is turned from the counter clockwise (minimum) position to the center (middle) position, the wave starts as a small pulse width wave and becomes a square width wave. From the center position to the clockwise (maximum) position, the wave changes from a square width wave to a large pulse width wave.

Depth knob ” adjusts the amount of tremolo that will be applied to your signal. As the intensity knob is turned from the counter clockwise (minimum) position to the clockwise (maximum) position, the amount of the effect will increase.

Rate knob ” adjusts the speed of modulation for the effect. As the rate knob is turned from the counter clockwise (minimum) position to the clockwise (maximum) position, the rate of modulation will increase.

Rate/status LED ” if the effect is engaged, the LED will blink at the same rate that the effect modulates. If the LED is off, the pulsar is in bypass mode. The footswitch engages/disengages the effect. 9V DC power jack.

I love what a tremolo adds to color your guitar sound but I could not find one that didn't also cut the volume of my sound when engaged. The Pulsar does no such terrible thing to my levels when turned on, easy to dial in a great sound and has a large range in flexibility. If you've never used a tremolo or are looking for something more reliable than what you have, I highly recommend the Pulsar.

This has a huge range of rate....the only part that I have experienced any difficulty is how sensitive the rate knob is to adjusting the speed....but theven blinking LED that is synced up with the rate AND type of shape helps a lot with that minor issue!

I'm playing through a Fender Blues Jr., using the Stereo Pulsar, it sounds like the tremelo on those super-early Leo Fender amps. Fantastic '60s sounds you've heard on early, electric Blues and Gospel, Rockabilly and later on Psychedelic-era pop and rock. This is my first Non-Fuzz venture into the Electro-Harmonix world, and I've got to say I'm loving it. Great sound with good variable wave/speed & depth control, super-durable construction and cool "serious," vintage-inspired look. A lot of bang for not a lot of buck. An excellent investment.

  • Great pedal but somewhat touchy

I bought this pedal after seeing a few demo videos. In a few of the videos there was the specific sound I was looking for which is something along the lines of what you hear in Bo Diddley records from the 1950's. When I first used the pedal I set it to the settings I saw in the video that had the sound closest to what I wanted to achieve. It wasn't quite right so I played abound with it for quite a while. Eventually I discovered that I was playing at a faster tempo than the guy in the video. So, slowing my tempo gave me the sound but playing slower than you are used to doing sucks. So, I went back to tweaking the controls and eventually found a setting that works with my personal playing style. I cannot say anything about the stereo feature as I have yet to use it. But, at some point I will hook it up in stereo to my multi-track recorder and see how it sounds. I love this pedal as it is the only tremolo pedal I have found that delivers the particular sound I want pretty much spot on. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that it is rather touchy with the controls. If you go too far with the speed you end up with something that is more noise than music. The housing is solid steel and very durable. I have read elsewhere on the web that inside it says made in china or japan even though on the side of the housing it says made in N.Y.C. U.S.A. I have not looked to see if this is true but, if it is I would suspect that it refers to components inside rather than the pedal. I think the made in the USA refers to the assembly rather than the individual pieces. I should also mention that this is my first effects pedal ever after 30 years of playing. I just never really felt the need or desire for one until now. I also want to mention that I am admittedly cheap and look to save money whenever I can. But the less expensive pedals just didn't seem to have the particular sound I wanted.

  • BEST TREM for the money

This might be the best tremolo for any price actually. Solid EH construction, tons of sounds! It can nail all the classic tremolo sounds like CCR, REM, etc. But even better than that is you really can discover NEW sounds and create your own signature sound. The knobs have a ridiculous amound of range! I like how the light flashes in time to the trem so It makes it easier to set to your music. The stereo function is really cool becuase it when bypassed it acts as a regular splitter, and when engaged you get really cool leslie sounds. This is the perfect pedal for players who like to tweak knobs.

I read a lot of good reviews on this pedal so I decided to try it out. It doesn't disappoint. Great sound, great versatility, good range, decent size. I love that the LED flashes when the volume sweeps. It is priced well too. I'm glad I own it.
