Good pedal but the Canyon is way more versatile

I ordered this without doing much research and when it arrived I knew within minutes I had made a mistake. Don't misunderstand, there's nothing wrong with this pedal. It does what it does well but it's very limited and that's why I gave it 3 stars. After doing some research I ended up exchanging it for the EH Canyon pedal which for only about $30 more does a TON more and sounds amazing. If you're looking for a very versatile echo/delay pedal I HIGHLY recommend the Canyon.
Decent delay

I have just recently bought this pedal to go along with a main delay I have as well as a reverb to stack 2 delays with reverb to get a really washy, ambient sound for modern worship music. It is a very clean, digital delay. Very versatile as far as the length of repeats as well as the delay time. It works well as a stacking delay if you are using it secondary. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because there is a pretty big signal loss when engaged. It doesn't suck tone when it is not engaged though which is nice. You really need to have a clean boost pedal of some sort to get the most out of this pedal. Luckily, I have a clean boost pedal but if you don't have one, I would go with another delay just for the loss of volume when you engage it.
I MISS MY ECHOPLEX - NO MORE

I did not review this pedal before purchase,I bought it on impulse....WOW! Love it! I've been playing professionally for over 30 years and used an Echoplex in the late 70s. This is a digital pedal that almost replicates the analog tape echo sound i've been looking for without the $$$$(I still miss the extra noises from worn tape and heads). I won't bore you (ie:brag) about my setup. The slap-back is excellent (think Led Zep Good Times Bad Times). NO TAP TEMPO? Real guitarist don't need no stinking TAP TEMPO. Learn how to play with the basics. Then you can get something with Tampon Tempo. As an EX drummer for J. Winter once told me, "FemProds have ruined good musicians". AS far as complaints about "Volume Drop" in the effects loop; Go and buy a VDc (VOLUME DROP compensator) MANUFACTURED by Tension Audio Resonance Devices. When all your friends ask, just tell them you got your VD from (a) TARD. I'm going to buy a 2nd #1 Echo, so that one can be used only for Slap Back. For the money, you can't go wrong.

ive been a guitar player for 35 years and have always trusted electro harmonix, i have used their products successfully the whole time...the 1 echo combines great quality with great tone and ease of use....digital with the analog sound has combined to make this pedal a very desirable unit in any guitar players arsenal--- and there are only two sources of musical equipment i will ever shop, and guitar center happened to have a better discount than the other outlet(most of you know who), so whenever i am in the market for a guitar, amplification, live equipment, effects units i will always check with guitar center for that extra discount, and they have come thru tremedously.
It's analog?

I don't what these 4 star reviews are about. Anyone looking to buy this pedal should already know that it doesn't have a tap tempo feature. NO BRAINER! It's analog with a classic feel. A clean signal might be the most important thing about a delay. If you're playing a Tele' you're gonna want the delay to sound like your playing it twice. The SlapBack is also to perfection. This is a five star product unless you bought it thinking it had more features than it did. BOOYA!
only one thing missing

This pedal is awesome. It was my teacher on how delay pedals work. I get cool sounds from it all the time, and i'm amazed at how clean the sound comes through.. this is pure delay. but. one thing missing... Tap tempo. if this had taptempo i'd give this a 6 stars.
