This little box has nice vocoder sounds some people complain about feed back I had it close to my monitor no feed back, I try it live with my band no feed back, if you dont understand mixers or equalizers frequencies it will definitely feed back. I give it a 4 star because it should have a key select note knob to keep in key when using it without a guitar or keyboard. Over all it's a great vocoder box I love it.

  • good, not so much.

I purchased the v256 back in 2011 in may-ish and upon receiving it, the thing wouldn't even turn on. Guitar centers help line did exactly that and helped me receive a replacement v256. the replacement worked for about 2 weeks then it all of a sudden wouldn't turn on. i once again called the guitar center help line, and this time i got a refund. and i went with the TC helicon voicetone and i have been loving it ever since. :) so be careful what you purchase!

i purchased the v256 early march and the second i took it out of its box it was destined to fail. i pluged the thing in and it had no response, D.O.A. so i called guitar center and told them my problem, they sent me a free return label. i got the replacement, and as soon as i plugged it in it was having troubles. the bypass foot switch was unresponsive, the l.e.d. just kept blinking and pressing the foot switch resulted in nothing. so i sent that one back just recently and got a refund. go with the TC Helicon VoiceTone Synth HardTune & Vocoder Pedal. worth the money.

I bought this just for a vocoder for gothic-indistrial ebm style vocal effects. I was blown away by the vocoder! This is the one! Your going to sell alot once the word gets out!

I've only had this effect box for a week, but I have had more hours of pure fun with it than any other so far. I need the Phantom Power feature for my "good" condenser microphone (AT2020) to get the best effects, and they are awesome. My vocals can sound like the robots on Battlestar Galactica or a South Park kid, I can retune "off" notes with Reflex-tune, or combine voice and guitar with vocoder. I've only scratched the surface of what it can do, because I don't know MIDI yet (and it has MIDI-IN). All these EH boxes are sturdy and versatile.

This little box is amazing. Very fun to use. I got it right out of the box and played it for three hours straight because I just couln't stop. It's alot smaller than I expected. Sometimes it can get a little feedback but that can be fixed by turning the mic gain switch from high to low. Vocoder sounds great. Reflex-tune is really fun and easy to use. Also the gender bender and pitch changing knob are really fun to mess around with. Overall really fantastic product.

Does the box work with the Neewer NW-800 condenser microphone? Basically, does it support phantom power?
