The Electro Harmonix Neo Clone

Electro-Harmonix

collapse expand iconDescription

The Electro-Harmonix Nano Clone Chorus Effect Pedal is everything you love about the Small Clone in an even more compact, die-cast package. This compact battery operated Chorus pedal features a simple, effective Rate knob, with an LED function indicator.

To produce the Chorus effect, the Nano Clone bends the frequency slightly from the input source and mixes this altered signal with some direct unaffected signal. The combination produces a doubling effect.

The depth switch controls the amount of frequency change that occurs in the altered signal. The rate knob controls the rate of alteration between raising and lowering the frequency. The red LED indicates when the effect is switched on. The footswitch engages and disengages the Chorus effect.

The Electro-Harmonix Nano seemed like a good idea, it's compact with one knob for simplicity. It basically has just one sound with a speed control. When I bought it I was looking to replace the chorus pedal I had been using and the sound of this effect is really nice, bright & sparkley. However, it is also extremely noisey. I bought it Online so I wasn't able to try it out before hand, except for watching a couple of YouTube demonstration videos. I would recommend this pedal for low volume (bedroom) situations. Cranked through a Marshall at full volume doesn't work!

i bought this pedal expecting it to be a plug-n-go style pedal. I was VERY wrong. i only sounds garbage at low settings, past that it sounds like the devil's fart. Actualy, more like a chainsaw, not because it shakes your sound awfuly but because it is terrible with distortion and is overall a very noisy pedal, even pluged with my george L cables, through a good voodoo lab pedal power pluged in a power conditioner. Yes, EHX screwed big time with this one. It one of those pedals that naive and new player buy. seriously, don't buy this.

I bought this pedal because it was a little less expensive than the small clone. HUGE mistake. the sound this pedal produces is pure garbage. very thin and tinny, there are no good settings on this. if you are looking at this pedal spend the extra money to get the neo clone or the original small clone.

I bought this pedal hoping to get a good no frills chorus sound. Decent depth level with a low rate to make my chords have some 'chorus' behind it. This pedal does that but that is it. You can not play this with any kind of drive or god forbid any distortion. It will not work well with tube type amps unless the drive is set very low. There is a big tone drain when it is on and a big reverb effect that will your guitar sound like you are banging on metal. But with a solid state amp and little to no reverb; step on this pedal with a chorus effect that can match up with most others.

I play alot of different types of music and this can pretty much cover them all. I love the simplicity of the pedal, because Im tired of all these pedals that need 10 different nobs to get the job done. The only problem that I've come acrossed is that when its on it decreaces the volume just alttle bit. But you can always turn that up. I would strongly recomend this to anybody looking for a inexpensive good quality chorus pedal.
