This Thing Is Fun
I was never a huge fan of fuzz pedals; more into that transparent gain with boost kinda sound, but thought about experimenting with some kinda fuzz. There are obviously a ridiculous number of fuzz pedals out there, everything from the couple dozen EH in production to the boo-teek pedals that cost as much as some of my guitars. I owned an EH Russian one (black box) years ago, but had to sell it. This pedal is in the wheelhouse of that sound. Gets that 90's kinda L7 or Garbage kinda vibe; fuzzy but not high-endy like the 70's fuzz sounds... although the tone knob has a fairly wide sweep. I see everyone comparing these to the originals, which is funny because those pedals were very inconsistent; some sounded like a fuzzy overdrive (like this), and others were more intolerably fuzzy. This is definitely a great starting point into fuzz-dom if you don't want an insane noise-fuzz kind of sound. Definitely a tighter fuzz than the others, and definitely worth the price of admission. Plus it looks cool in the Russian army-green color and takes up WAY less real estate on a pedalboard. Another plus; you can use a power supply with it without modding!! Note: I had to edit this review because the product's name was flagged as profanity.

Not sure I would buy this again based on my experience.
I am using this pedal in a Marshall TSL 100. The pedal's tonal palette is great, but I'm concerned about the footswitch. Right out of the box I couldn't get the pedal to turn on depressing the switch as hard as I could. I kept trying and trying. Finally, it came on but then I couldn't get it to turn off. I continued to mash and mash and after about 10 times, it began to work. The "click" now sounds/feels, for lack of a better description, weak. Maybe there is dirt or something in it. I don't know. But disappointing & I don't it expect it to last very long. I don't guess it was tested. This is my first EHX product to have purchased.

I have had this for a few weeks now and it give my bass that beefy, doom tone I was looking for. Great fuzz without sacrificing your low end.
