"History Repeats Itself" - Deluxe Memory Man - Video by Jack Conte - Analog Delay/ Chorus/ Vibrato

Description
The Blend control allows you to vary the mix of direct and delayed signals, and the center-position setting equals out both levels. Feedback provides delay repeats, or multiple echoes. Fairly high feedback with short delay settings produces a reverb effect. The Delay control determines the time between direct and delayed signals, and between the repeats when feedback is used. Strange, eerie and unusual pitch-shift effects can be produced by changing the delay, while playing-especially while using feedback. The Chorus/Vibrato control introduces a modulation in the delay time: slow for chorus, faster for vibrato. This produces a "Doppler" pitch shifting in the delayed signal. A rich, vibrant chorus effect is produced with the switch set to chorus, delay fairly short, blend at the center, chorus set high and feedback fairly high.

I'm new to to pedals for my guitar. I've used the simulation pedals on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone; but it's something else to hear the pedal come through the Vox. I'm a big fan of the Edge's early sound and I wanted to explore that area with my guitar playing. The pedal delivers... plus, I've found all kinds of sounds that I'll have to make time to explore in the future. Can't go wrong with this one.

Simply put, this pedal takes live performances (as well as recording sessions) to the next level. Between easy to use dials and simple, smooth controls-this little box of wonders delivers an amazing and professional tone which will wow crowds and fellow players alike. The smaller (XO) series contains identical circuitry and comes complete with the appropriate power supply (a savings of approximately $15-$20) as well. Fitting simply onto most pedal boards, after 20-30 minutes of exploring the versatility of this tool, stage presence and recordings will sing like never before! Take care and enjoy this little pedal!

There's a reason some of the big players swear by this pedal... This is without a doubt one of the most natural sounding delay on the market and is very very versatile. I bought without thinking too much about it, but when I plugged it in, i was getting some very natural and awesome sounds. Not to mention the great chorus/vibrato built in that just makes this that much more versatile. If you want the best delay, get this pedal.
Disapointing

The first thing I notice when I plugged in the Deluxe Memory Man was there appeared to be no Delay. After about half hour of fiddling with the knobs I got a delay that sounded pretty good, however it was far to difficult to get the delay I wanted and certain delays couldn't be reach not to mention that annoying click every time the devise was engaged or disengaged. Before purchasing this item try the Digitech Hardwire DL-8 you won't be disapointed.

How is it with bass? I had the true analog version, that plugged directly into house current. I believe it had an actual tape loop, and the thing about it was that when overloaded, it produced a very warm distortion. I'm not sure this version will produce the same. THAT is the Memory Man I'm looking for.
THIS is not it. It's ok with a bass, no better than any other pedal. It will do what most do to a bass - reduce the lows on the Chorus/Vibrato. Also, this is a buffered output. The wet/dry mix is not a direct out. I don't know what you're experience is but a buffered output will noticeably affect your sound. This is 2023. I've been playing over 50 years. Nothing sounds like saturated tape. You may want to think about a tube pre-amp.
