8 strings have peaked my curiousity for some time and this one finally helped me get over the price hurdle. I was quite impressed by the quality of the guitar and the overall setup (within reason for the price) The shorter scale length does make the f# buzz a bit but im upping the stock gauge (I usually play on power slinkys anyways) and having it setup so hopefully that will take care of it but thats not the reason for 4 stars. The 4 stars is because the stock tuner barely accepts the 68 gauge string for the lower f# much less anything larger. Stock pickups are so-so but for just messing around they do the job. Very decently balanced but the f# can mud up your sound from the buzz just because of how much bass their is in that string. Overall very impressed with my first ESP guitar!
