Dunlop
Description
Every set of Dunlop acoustic guitar strings delivers brilliant and rich tone for a dynamic and expressive acoustic experience. The finest wire combined with precise construction produce versatile strings durable enough to withstand hard strumming--and responsive enough for delicate fingerpicking. Chords ring out with great clarity, bass notes growl, and harmonics pop and sing. Dunlop's formula creates strings that are exceptionally long-lived, they break-in fast and stay bright so you can spend more time playing and less time changing your strings.

I was at the new guitar center in gainesville florida and i was looking for strings for my gibson hummingbird pro. It was suggested that i try dunlops. I want to tell these are the best sounding strings i have tried. these strings brought my gibson to life. they are bright with a great bass range. i would suggest these to everyone

...and it's essential to spend no less than 9 bucks on actual strings worth playing. I have used 3 sets of dunlop acoustics, all given to me for free by a friend as a recommendation. I am definitely a DR guy, but figured "why not, they're free!". One of two open mics I have done in my life resulted in the death of all the wound strings before the end of the third song. They just all snapped. I thought it was a fluke, so I put the other set on while the other guy sang for a while. I hop back up and guess what, two more go. Keep in mind, up until this point I have only broken 2 strings amongst every set I've ever strung on this guitar. If the strings don't break (I'm currently on the third set right now, G string snapped within the first 5 minutes) they are horribly out of tune and sound like a bad chorus effect within 24 hours. The description here, from my experience, is false advertising. They weren't bright from the beginning, they're the shortest lived acoustic strings I've ever used (worse than Martin Marquis), and I have broken too many of them far too soon to even know what they sound like after 2 weeks. Sorry Dunlop, you got the pedals down. Stick to that please. I'm going back to Sunbeams.
