Dunlop

collapse expand iconDescription

Bass players demand consistency, durability, and versatility from their strings. Dunlop delivers. Dunlop bass guitar strings offer traditionalists, slappers, and pick-wielding rockers cutting midrange, wide bottom end and a growl that will cut through any band. Carefully selected core-to-wrap ratios yield a low-tension steel string with an extremely long life, and minimal break-in time. Each 5-string set is exceptionally well balanced from string-to-string, and provides an amazing amount of dynamic range.

I could not find the actual string length anywhere on Dunlop's or MF's site. I can say that these "Medium scale" length strings fit a Fender 34" scale bass, no problem.

  • These are legit!!!! Try'em.

I exchanged my D'addario ProSteels (.045-.135) for the .045-.125 Nickel set of Dunlop because I wanted to experiment with new strings. I find them better than D'addarios NPS strings. They have a brighter, puncher, growling lows and focused midrange like the description says. I tend to change strings every month due to sweaty hands, and tearing it up hard using my fingers. I noticed after 3 months my tone just dull a bit, and it wasn't necessary to change my strings. I can easily say you can go HARD on this string with 3 to 5 shows back to back before getting another set.

These bass strings are amazing! The strings I was using before were guages 45-128, and I didn't like the B string at all because it was too floppy and had way too much buzzing. These Dunlop strings however are smooth, warm sounding, and have a nice bright tone to them, and they rarely ever buzz or flop up against the fretboard. Overall, if you don't have the money for DR Extra-Life Strings, you must get these instead.
