I was using various DR strings for the last few years and eventually felt I wasn't getting a sound I like. Was is my amp head? Cabinet? I had Rotosounds in the back of my mind from 40 years ago but I didn't want to deal with dead stings right out of the pack so something told me to try Dunlop Marcus Miller strings. Wow! Snarly, growly, powerful strings that have dimension! Depth, mids, crystal highs. For the sound I like, these are lively. The DR Highbeams I was using just weren't there for me tonewise.

  • I love these strings

I put these strings on my Flea roadworn Jazz and they really bring out the growl for rock tone. In addition they deliver a perfect slap sound and are responsive to dynamics. Love these Dunlop MM strings!!

Having been a DR Fat Beams guy for so long, and I do still love them, I was curious after reading several reviews of these Dunlop strings and tried them, liked them, but continued to experiment with other strings (Fat Beams are almost never on the local guitar big box store shelves) like Roto 66 (E string dead out if the package, typical). Long story shirt, I will be sticking with the Dunlops for the foreseeable future.
