Top-Rated
Dunlop Kerry King Drop Tuning Icon Series Signature Set

Description
Kerry King--the undisputed godfather of thrash metal--is one of the most influential guitarists of our generation. His ferocious, full-throttle right hand picking style combined with his aggressive vibrato and bends wreak havoc on strings. When KFK needed a more durable string that could withstand the punishment, he looked no further than his friends at Dunlop Strings to deliver the goods. Now armed with the Kerry King Icon Series set, KFK's sound stays crunchy, clear, and defined -- even at Slayer's high-speed tempos.

I've been using another brand which costs 3x more (NYXL) and had been reluctant to switch to something else. These kfk strings not only add that certain something for tone that was missing, but they are also every bit as good as the others for quality and reliability. I have these strung up to my ESP JH-600 and used the largest string tuned to c# standard. The string was a little large to fit into the Kahler bridge but to remedy it I simply squeezed the string a little bit with a pair of pliers to narrow it up slightly to fit the bridge slot. I was using a 9-42 set before and tuned a half step down. With this new size I didn't have to make any intonation or string height adjustments. They feel slightly stiffer but my others were a tad too soft and now I can feel the strings better. These strings improved many things especially sustain and my hammer-ons are stronger. I'm truthfully shocked how well this change has improved my sound. I didn't try the (NYXL) drop tune strings because these are much more affordable and thought I would give them a try first. I'm glad I did because these strings are much less expensive, break in just as fast, and seem to last every bit as long as my NYXL. Overall I'm glad I tried these strings and I'm going to continue using them from now on.

I play all kinds of metal music and I use both 6 & 7 string guitars and these strings work great for both style guitars. They tune easily and settle in great after a few stretches. The tone is far superior to any other string I have come a crossed. The feel of these strings are smooth and buttery and have a aggressive tone made to take punishment.

These strings are great! I switched to them last year after playing on Ernie Ball skinny top heavy bottoms for a while. These strings take a lot of abuse, they dont take long to settle in after you put them on and they stay in tune very well. I haven't had a sting break once in the year ive been using them. The only reason I dont give them 5 stars is because I only use the 52 gauge low E and I really wish they came with just the 52 because now I have tons of extra 46's that I dont use..Overall Fantastic strings I wont play anything but Dunlop strings from now on

These strings are awesome! They have the perfect sound for metal, (And Rock), and they can hold up to some massive beating and not break. They were also very easy tune as well. I would recommend these strings to any metal, rock or thrash player that wants to get that killer Kerry King sound.
