Legacy & Innovation: 3 Cry Baby

Dunlop

collapse expand iconDescription

Dunlop has taken the original Cry Baby and added the three most popular and requested upgrades: the famous "Q" control, which varies the intensity of the wah effect by adjusting the effect's bandpass shape; the volume Boost, for up to +15 dB added gain; and Dunlop's Auto-Return function that automatically engages the effect when you place your foot on the pedal. The 95Q is a flexible tone monster that retains the original Cry Baby's fast-reacting characteristics.

This is a terrible peddle

This peddle is a great idea, poorly executed. I'm not sure if this is a defective peddle or if the quality has gone downhill, but I have owned this peddle before, sounded great, worked great, I loved it. This new one I just bought sounds horrible. It's so noisy that I can barely make out any guitar sound at all.

I love the convenience of just step on it, and it turns on as opposed to the others, which, when you engage by pushing all the way down kicks in with the blistering treble right from the start. I just wish the switches didn't wear out so fast and need replacement.

  • Best of both worlds!

I play lead guitar in a classic rock cover band. I've had a lot of wahs over the years. My last one was a Bad Horsie. I liked how it worked, but wanted more of a classic wah sound. This Crybaby gives me the classic sound with the convenience of auto on/off of the Morley. It's also smaller than the Morley so it takes up less space on my pedal board!

I've owned several wah pedals, including other Dunlops, Morley, Vox, etc. I kept trying Morley given it's auto on/off capability, but after five different variants, I was still never happy with the response/feel of the Morleys. My favorite Wah for higher gain tones and lead work has always been the ZW45; it's simple, the sweep is lower and sounds/feels great, the Q just right, and it's easy to click on and off. It's not the best for cleaner playing; hence my search for another flavor of wah. I'm so glad I ran across the 95Q; it sounds great with lower gain tones AND it springs back and shuts off automatically! Best of both worlds for me. No more pressing the pedal a second for third time like I was with the GCB95.

  • Yes I would buy this product after playing it

Great wah pedal. Love the auto return, i could use it as i want and not have to worry about turning it on or off. Boost is a nice feature as well.
