DigiTech Nautila Chorus / Flange Guitar Effects Pedal

Description
The Nautila focuses on quick, easy, performance control to allow guitarists and bassists to customize their modulation with minimal effort. Additionally the intuitive nature of the control functions and layout are designed to inspire creativity. High-voltage rails allow the Nautila to be used with high gain pedals and in amp FX loops with no loss of fidelity. Since the Nautila works equally well on guitar or bass, this single pedal takes the place of, and also surpasses, several chorus and flanger pedals that were previously offered by DigiTech in the Hardwire and X-Series pedal lines.

I love this thing! Great digital chorus, and it offers a nice variety of control. Because it has a mix knob, you can turn it all the way up the just have the wet signal, giving you straight vibrato. The flanger setting is cool too, and I REALLY like to turn up the rate of the flanger, which makes it sound more like a Leslie than any other chorus pedal I've ever used. So I get chorus, vibrato, flanger, and Leslie-ish tones all in one pedal.
Just okay, not great.

I was super excited for this pedal. I love my Ventura Vibe (discontinued pedal from the same line). I thought Nautila would be right up there despite being digital. I was wrong. For one, the sound of the choruses are a bit brittle and lack warmth. Secondly, although you got a lot of parameter control, for some reason it's hard to produce a variety of sounds. Ventura Vibe has just as many parameters plus 3 settings instead of 2 and I can dial in all sorts of useful sounds right of the bat. And finally, if you max out on the effect mix, there is a huge volume drop. So, in conclusion and in comparison with the Ventura Vibe's quality which made me consider trying Nautila, I think I might just return this pedal as it is currently uninspiring.
Wonderful sound, this is now my main chorus pedal.

I'm running this through a Black star 60 Watt Soloist. It sounds great extremely well built, and cool graphics.
