WOW...
I just got mine an hour ago and all that I can say is that......If this is Dean's lowest entry level guitar I cannot wait to see what their other more expensive ones are like. This is a very light guitar compared to my Les Paul. It sounds great and resonates forever... The absolute best bang for your buck if you are a beginner on a tight budget. The tuners are not the greatest but those can be changed for under $50.00. The sound is awesome.... I have played others costing 5 times as much and this one blows them away. I got this as a practice guitar that I would not have to care for and worry about as much as my Les Paul. I must say that I see my LP sleeping in it's case for awhile now. I work nights and when I get home I want to play without waking the wife or the baby. This guitar is perfect for that because it sounds great even without an amp. It is very very light though and the wood grain is just a graphic but who cares this thing absolutely rocks. Also if you get this one, do not expect the natural color to be as light as the photos of it because it is really much darker. SUMMARY: This guitar would be a great deal at $300.00. I just noticed that some sites are listing this as a clearance item so do not wait and order yours soon. I really expected at best an OK guitar for 100 bucks. I got one of the best sounding axes I have ever had. I have been playing for 16 years now and have owned over 20 guitars and would rate this in my top 3

Good for the dough, but not for the show
First thing out of the box I noticed that the finish wasn't at all like the stock photos online. It isn't transparent at all, more of a flat black finish (on the trans. black version, of course). It was set up great from the factory, and after tuning it up, it felt great with low action and no fret buzz. It is my son's first guitar and we were both pretty happy with it until we plugged it into an amp. A lot of noise, and is overbearing at times. I went through and cleaned up the poor soldering inside the cavity and fixed a damaged wire, but it didn't help the noise situation. I tested the amp with my Dean Custom 350 and it was quiet, so there is something up with the electronics in this guitar. All in all, not too bad for the money. Good for practice without amplification.

I love my guitar. My wife bought it for me because I've always wanted one. Even though I am a beginner and don't know anything about guitars, my music instructor told me it's a good one.
Can't believe how good it is.

I bought one on the cheap to throw some pickups in it that didn't work for other projects and probably tune it to Db. A guitar that didn't need to be very good because it would be used for a handful of songs if I ever decided to learn those songs. What I got though is an amazingly solid guitar. This thing didn't even need a setup and had no fret buzz going on either. The fret ends are a little sharp but I think people complaining about that are whining and engaging in hyperbole. It's not smooth as glass but my hands are in no danger of getting cut or hurt. You can file that problem away before giving this to a child, or whatever. I even like the stock pickups which is shocking. I thought buying a new guitar meant you had to get new pickups because it is dull and muddy without them. Not this time. Get one if you need a hard tail. Better yet, it's 24 frets and a 25.5 scale so it probably the best option at this or double the price. Unless it's a LP or SG and that is the sound you're looking for, you don't want 22 fret dual humbuckers, believe me - how do you think I have extra pickups around?
It is what it is! Great guitar But?

Finally got my Vendetta! They had to resedual my dilivery date twice! But oh well! So after unboxing I looked for any of the problems other people had experienced? That said: I found the tuners to be sloppy, I expected that so no problem! It sounded kind of strange & just wouldn't tune! I'm older and halfway blind! So thinking I should set the intonation looking closer at the strings something was wrong! Knowing that D'Addario color codes their strings I found that the strings were in order but for some reason they had out a G-string where the High E-String should be? No wonder it wouldn't tune! I found the rest of the guitar to be more than satisfactory! Oh except one more minor problem? The toggle switch cut in and out! I say minor because I have a degree in electronic's so souldering is second nature to me! So for $7.50 I bought a new one from Guitar Center problem solved! I'll buy new tuners soon & then I'll have a great guitar that I know I will enjoy for years to come!

What type of pickup does this guitar use? And what type of humbucker cover could we use to cover the open coils?
This guitar has Dean Open-coil humbuckers. Unfortunately, we don't have any humbucker covers that would work with these pickups.
