Best Buy

This bass is probably your best bet to buy for a limited budget or want a great sounding bass. I have played with some other basses and they do not compete with this bass for the value and quality. No matter what you are, this bass will fulfill your needs and you will have extra money to buy an amp or effects. So overall, this is an amazing bass for a cheap affordable price.

Not what you expect

I've had this bass for 5 months now and i thought i would write a review. There are a few pros and cons about this bass and thought i would let everyone know before they bought it. One amazing thing about this bass is its look. It looks amazing every time i look at it im still amazed that its mine, and where ever you go your bound to get several comments about it. Other than its original shape the sound is very good and clear. I used DR strings and D'addario and i prefer D'addario. Now the thing i dont like about this bass is the way you have to hold it combined with the action. After playing this bass for 5 months ive went to guitar center and played a normal shaped bass and i couldnt believe how fast i was able to play. This bass really takes away from playing fast and im disappointed because now i have to get a new bass so i can use my speed and have a good sound.

I have been wanting to buy this bass for a long, long time and this was one of the best things that I've ever bought. I am left handed and looked for a lefty version of this bass but was unable to find one. What I ended up doing was unscrewing the springs on the bridge and ajusted it accordingly. I then took a nail file and made the G wide enough for the E...etc. It ended up settling in really well and it looks like it's always been a lefty. Dean, if you're reading this, please make a lefty version of this and the others in the metalman series! :) Oh, right. The bass. This is undoubtably the best bass I own, and I own several that are double the price. 4 months later every time I look at it I still can't beleive it's mine. It has a great sounding deep tone, the pickups are perfect, and it look so awesome. It sounds great with a flanger as well. Perfect for gigs, practicing and jamming. One small problem. The port for the cord is really tight. I took it apart to loosen it but even then it's still super tight. It takes some elbow grease to get a cord or wireless out of it. Not too bad though. And it certainly beats a loose port. I can't say enough good things about this bass. I would've bought it for double the price. If you are on the edge about buying this... DO IT. You won't regret it. Thank you Dean for making such a cool bass!!!

This is a pretty good sounding bass, the lows and mids have fairly rich tones, highs are a bit weak though. This bass looks cool, though the design is a little frustrating. So if you ever want to sit down while you play bass, then this bass is not for you. The pickups are also ridiculously far from the neck for whatever reason. If you are good at plucking quick metal riffs then this bass will be awkward, as it seems to be more set up for someone who picks bass. All in all this thing looks sick, and definitely is awesome on stage, but this should be a backup or gig only bass, just because it is simply impractical just for playing.
