Description

The DW 6710 Ultralight Straight Cymbal Stand is created for students, weekend drummers, and working pros. The 6710 stand's performance upgrades and enhanced adjustability bring modern technology and manufacturing methods to a classic drum hardware design. The stand's vintage-style flush-base leg assembly and smaller diameter tubing provide a practical cymbal hardware option that is significantly lighter without sacrificing quality or performance.

A scaled-down version of the popular lineup of 6000 Series retro-styled, flush-base hardware, 6000 Series Ultralight stands utilize smaller diameter, lighter gauge steel tubing and a low-mass tube joint for optimal portability. Other marquis features include a Glide Tilter for exacting adjustment of cymbal and snare drum angles. An "old-school" snare basket design gets a modern, spring-loaded makeover and the hi-hat stand is as smooth and effortless as its 6000 cousin. Ultralight hardware is a perfect fit for bop kits, vintage sets and gigging drummers everywhere.

This stand is excellent. plain and simple. I use it as my ride stand and I can lay into and crash on my 22 K without any major movement. The build quality is excellent. The fit and finish is sleek and elegant. Its a timeless design with a modern twist, with a lot more rigidity than older counterparts.

Like most of DW's hardware, this stand just works. I personally like the included memory lock. However, others have noted that it adds weight and prevents breakdown to the smallest possible length. That being said, it's still the smallest, shortest, lightest stand in my hardware case. There's a lot of questions regarding the stability of DW's 6000 series hardware. It's constructed very well and should last the lifetime of your kit and/or cymbal. Mounting a 22" Medium-Light ride to this stand makes it wobble, however slight it may be. To clarify, I'm not the least bit concerned that it'll fall over or come crashing down on neighboring drums/stands. Would I mount a 22" ride and 18" crash to this stand? Absolutely not. Ditto for any combination of drum AND cymbal. Pro's: -DW toothless cymbal tilter -Light Weight -Functional -Looks -Well-constructed Cons: -Not as stable as it's double-braced relatives. -Price

Been using the 9000 dw series hardware and that stuff was getting real heavy to lug around. These stands are great quality with all the great dw features. They are light weight and they look real cool, great vintage vibe. They go with my new kits and vintage kits.
