Not for sturdy players

I am honestly so stinking disappointed with this pedal. I've used dw 5000 and 9000 pedals and bought this to use on my new electric kit and it's just abysmal. The pivoting saddle for the kick drum hoop on an electric kit just means the whole sensor can rock around on a hinge. Even on a real kick drum, the clamp comes loose constantly. The beaters swivel as well and I just can't recommend this to anyone who plays with any gusto at all. Probably fine for a lighter player.

QC on the lower tier DW hardware has absolutely gone out the window. Had screw heads shear off of the screw straight out of the box just under the strength of my fingers and I'm not the hulk or anything. The pedalboard hinge will literally break off after extended use if you don't keep your foot perfectly straight. Hot pile of trash. Go for the cobras or 9000s if you NEED the DW thing
Great double bass pedal value

I own several different dbl pedals. DW5000, DW9000, Pearl Reds. This 3000 series is great for the money.

I have zero double pedal to experience to draw from. But my first impression would be slightly heavy feeling. I think that has a lot to do with how you tune the spring vs tempo. I found that if my tempo matches the natural rebound of the spring, it feels super light . If you are getting ahead of the spring action and laying back into the pedal while it's still rebounding , if feels super heavy. Not that is a a bad thing , feels super solid and connected. But not necessarily light and snappy. That's just a newb first impression. Construction wise , I would say this thing will last a recreational guy/gal a life time. I didn't want to go cheap and have to buy twice, I didn't want to spend 500+… I feel this set up up fits its price point . Out of the box the slave pedal fades on bounce test faster than master, but that's just the physics of of the extra weight and drag of the drive shaft. Let the u joints break in , let me break in, and fine tune later. Had a lot of fun working on some entry level .double bass stuff tonight.
