Zebra acoustic-electric strings from DR Strings work great for acoustic-electric guitars with piezo pickups under the bridge or magnetic pickups in the soundhole. Zebras also work for full-size archtop guitars, which respond to Zebra strings with richer tones. Any amplified acoustic guitar comes alive when you put on Zebra strings. Revolutionary design you can see--every other coil is nickel-plated steel, every other coil is rare phosphor bronze, and both are wound on round cores.

Normally I use Martin strings for my acoustic-electric Yamaha, but I thought I'd give these a try. Initial tone is good, but it's too early to comment on longevity.

What a great idea! Alternating wrappings of bronze and nickel! I have an acoustic guitar with an EMG piezo pickup under the bridge and an EMG magnetic pickup in the sound hole. I'm amazed at how good these strings sound. When I turn the magnetic off they have a very nice acoustic quality and when i turn the volume up to mix in the magnetic there is a major change in the tone. Much fuller. Also, the sound acoustically (with out amplification) is really nice. I've been looking for acoustic strings that are not so bright as they all seem to be, i wanted a more mellow sound and the combination of nickel and bronze accomplishes that quite nicely. Also, these work very well with the Roland GK-3 synth pickup. Excellent response.
