DR Strings Sunbeam Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings

I have 3 Taylors that are naturally brighter than my Martin D-18, so these strings are not the best choice for those guitars. On the other hand, they are perfect for the D-18, helping to balance out the tone by adding a little more treble. I have used both the 12-54 and the 13-56, and like them both.

I like these more than Fender, Ernie Ball or D Addario

I have tried a couple different strings on my Martin GPRS1 but these really are fantastic. The tone is warm and full without sacrificing a lot of brightness. Very easy to fret as well (but not as easy as Martin silk coated strings which are like butter). I will be stocking up on these and putting on my other guitars as well.

I've now put these strings on my ; Cole Clark Angel, and Breedlove Oregon Concert, since November 2016, and have been impressed enough to not use anything else. I have preferred their ; clear, natural ( subjective to me) tone, as compared to the Elixir, and Ernie Ball aluminum bronze I had previously used. More importantly, I like the soft and supple ( easily bendable and playable), feel they have right after stringing them , and haven't experienced the stiffness I've felt from other phosphor strings - although some of that may be due to my playing more often. They have also lasted longer than my previous, non coated strings, in both tone and corrosion, and to me have rivaled Elixr's in longevity.... Iv'e gone 2 months between string changes. Re: tuning peg unwinding mentioned by other reviewers ; I have simply bent and curled the end of the string at the tuning peg and have not experienced problems with going out of tune. They have also held their tuning well ! On the two guitars mentioned, they've worked great , but can't comment on their use on other guitars.

I bought one set based on other reviews, as an alternative to the Elixir Nanowebs that seemed to work best on my Australian Cole Clark. Sticking with the same gauges, I wasn't that fond of them for a day or so, but now with about 4 hours of play, they sound fine to me. I'm generally not a fan of Elixir's, although they do last long.... and I usually use Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze on my other acoustics but for this guitar, they worked well. These DR Sunbreams, to me bring out more of the natural & woody sound of this guitar ( Spruce top, Rosewood B/S), and are easy to play, ( not as slick as Elixir's but more so than other phosphor bronze I've tried.) Only time will tell how long they'll last, but if it's more than a month, I'll probably order them again.

I have a 2003 Taylor that I have used Daddario EXP, John Pearse and Elixir HD strings on in the past. All of them sounded good but my guitar has really come alive with the DR Sunbeams. I have only had them on a couple of weeks so I don't know how their longevity will be compared to the coated EXP and Elixir strings.
