DR Strings

collapse expand iconDescription

Gauges 12-16-24-34-45-56. Rare Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings are a departure from the standard, good-quality bronze string currently available--not necessarily better, but possessing a new, different, and stronger voice. Hand-carved archtops, dreadnoughts, and good steel string acoustic guitars of rosewood, maple, and mahogany benefit from a distinct improvement in tone, depth, and sustain with a fatter, louder sound and a deeper bottom.

These strings are the loudest i've ever used on a guitar. Give a stronger bass on the low strings, sweet highs on the skinny strings. Overall, however, I prefer other strings for the tone of the Yamaha FG730s. This is my second attempt at DR strings on my 2 guitars. Love that they're made in USA, I just seem to like other strings better on my instruments. By the way, these strings break in fast, hold there tuning, and last a long time. Price is right to try some on your own guitar and see what you think.

I recorded my CD, Ray Lawrence Jr., Raw and Unplugged on a Yamaha FX335 Acoustic Electric purchased from Guitar Center in Phoenix, AZ. and on this guitar I put a set of DR RPM-12 strings before recording that CD. These strings play well and sound great. I used them in the studio and on stage and when I purchased my Martin guitar, the same brand of strings went on that guitar too. Even on the cheapest of acoustic guitars, I put D R strings on and the guitar comes to life. Must be some magic in those hand made stings or is it the phosphorus bronze or the hex core or compression winding or the fact they are made in the USA. When i opened for Hank williams III at the Marquis Theater in Tempe, AZ. Sept 19,2011, I had put on a new set of DR RPM-12 on my Martin just before the show and no problems with the strings going out of tune an hour or so before the show. I would have had a problem with other brands stretching that soon before a show. Not with D R strings. I have changed strings during a break at a show and played the same guitar the next set. Tune it once and play. These strings set fast and play well. Try a set of D R strings on your acoustic. You may notice what i did.

I love these strings!!! They give me the exact sound that I was looking for. They give a heavy stronger tone. Great for Country, and for music with a "darker" vibe! =p
