I really loved these strings. I actually only used the first 6 of the set for my xiphos guitar. They worked and held really well for the way my guitar was set-up (1/2 step down D# tuning). Harmonics hit well, strings felt nice, coating + strings lasted long as heck! I would recommend them to anybody looking for a light-like set of strings. Do not work well with anything down a step or more!

Had these delivered to my house, and they looked amazing on my dark-wood fretboard of my Ibanez at first. First of all, they took forever to break in. Then, and maybe it's because I use metal picks, but the black coating wore off in the area where I pick in about a week. Now, less than a month later, the D string broke at the bridge. Personally, I'm switching back to Ernie Ball Power Slinkys.

I first picked up these strings about a year ago. and ever since I've been hooked on them. I honestly don't prefer anything else for my 7-string except these DR's. I love the black coating, it gives your guitar that much tougher of a look than other strings. but they also sound and feel amazing. not to mention their gig worthy almost as soon as you put them on!!! Recomend these strings to everyone I see. plus after a little aging, the black starts to fade to grey, giving your guitar a very worn looks, that gives the impression that you can literally play the paint of your strings!! 5 stars all day!!

I tried these because everyone say's they are really good strings, they do very well, love the tone, feel, and durability! I can dive these things as hard as I want and they stand up, hold tune without any trouble. I was really impressed when I put them on and it took half the stretching of other strings I've used, big plus! I don't play professionally so you decide. I have heard some negatives on how the black coating wears off and it does a little but without effecting tone or durability, just a cosmetic thing that nobody really cares about anyway. I actually prefer the DR Pinks as they are a little lighter string and I bend a lot, and they hold up just as well. Good luck and rock on all you crazy musicians out there!

I bought these strings from a local guitar shop not too long ago. Before I got these, I was all about the Dean Markley Blue Steels. But I saw these and thought "They are color coated. Thats awesome!". I waited until my Blue Steels aged some and then threw these on. Immediately I was hooked. The black coating is awesome. The strings feel really good on your fingers when you play and they don't really loosen up that much when you first tighten them up. They also have a great tone. I may shop around and experiment, but these strings are totally worth the money.
