DR Strings

Description

DRs EXTRA-Life Black Beauties offer guitar players a superior black coated string without sacrificing the crisp tone, clarity, and volume of traditional DR HandMade Strings. EXTRA-Life is a super thin advanced .0003" coating on the plain electric guitar strings and on the wrap wire for added protection.

DR's remarkable, and proprietary, patent pending K3T Technology Coating is the first coating that makes no apologies and no excuses. Players say these strings have less unwanted overtones, more volume, great clarity and articulation than standard uncoated strings. Yet, they provide the same protection against corrosion due to humidity and perspiration as well as the increased tonal life coated strings have come to be known for.

got the BLACK BEAUTIES free in a promotional pack of DR. BLUES, dullest string I ever played. Took' off after 15 minutes. after playing the DR. Blues for a few years went back to super slinky, better string less dinero!

Looked kinda cool, in a weird way? Played good for about 8 hours, then noticed the high E & B strings were loosing sustain. 10 hrs. dead sounding E & B strings with coating flaking off all strings @ fret contacts and picking areas. They came with 2 sets or regular Blues , so fortunately no cash expenditure. Pulled um off before next gig . PURE JUNK

  • I will continue to use this product.

I have no idea why other people are breaking these things putting them on, its the only set of strings I use. I gig with them at least 2 a month, and play almost everyday, and i'm getting 3-4 months a set right now. Great feel, great tone. I used to use exilirs, and was recommended these about 2 years ago haven't gone back since. The coating really helps reduce irritation to your fingers during extended playing. Black with wear off with heaving usage. Do yourself a favor and pick up a pack, worth the price any day. Seriously best string I've ever played

When i first bought these strings i was impressed with the slick black finish. However, when i was putting them on my guitar the 1st string snapped with little force. Also after about 3 days i could see the black coating beginning to wear off. They look cool but are definately not worth the price !

Well, I know about the bigger tone that comes with 10's and up, and I do run 10's and even 11's on a couple of my guitars, but I enjoy the ease of bending that you get with 9's. The Black Beauties are my favorite strings because although they're a little spendy, I think they pay off with longer life, and they have a slick feel to them that make sliding around the fretboard real easy. My local GC's don't seem to stock the 9's anymore, but it's easy to order a dozen or so on-line.
