  • Hard coating does extend string life

The hard coating does a good job of extending string life, but sacrifices brightness. I'm not saying my tone was bad, though, just different. These strings brought out the woody-nutty-woofy tones in my mandolin, whereas my normal D'Adarrio EJ74s have a brighter, piercing top end.
