Great & Stable

I've used this mic stand on numerous occasions and I find it very stable , it will wobble but it won't fall not even when two hot back-up singers are moving all around it. The best feature is the one hand Quick adjustment release no screwing around just press the release button and adjust to your needs. BUY IT ! BUY IT ! BUY it now.

Just like the rest of adjustables

I have never had good experiences with easy adjust mic stands. They work great out of the box and generally a few weeks later can't stay up any longer. I am quite impressed with the tripod stand DRPro makes so thought I'd try their version out. Same experience. Works great out of the box, but now only works well if you want to hold it up in the air or you are only 3' tall. It will not stay at up. Just slides right back down. Definitely not worth the money especially when you buy 4 of them like I did. Now I get to replace 4 expensive mic stands. They do well holding the door open for load in still though...

Received as a gift from a bandmate- very kind of them- it worked ok for a while - I like the quick release feature. The problem was it look like the home in the base was drilled off-center and after a few months (using about once per month) the stand started to get wobbly. I don't go too crazy with the mic stand but occasionally tilt it forward or backwards on the base. Nothing too wild. As it became wobblier and wobblier I'd try to tighten it but it would get kind of tight and the. If you kept turning it it would be loose again. I tried to move the washer to the bottom of the base to stabilize but it wouldn't go on right because the threads on the pole are messed up. I don't recommend this stand. Seems like they did a bad job with the base design.

It's smooth, and easy to raise for performers of different heights. Probably the smoothest I've ever used. #sweepstakes

My only gripe is for the quick release lever. I user to it being on the lower pole thats connected to the base. To me, it seems strange to squeeze the lever and having the whole top portiion of pole and lever coming up. Who came up with that idea? Otherwise, it's a decent mic stand.

Poor design. Mic won't stay up after just a few uses. Stand wrong stay inside the base. The quick release is plastic and broke. I swapped out THREE times…all of them same/similar issues. It's just a trash product.

Quick release stand won't stay up anymore, won't even hold the weight of the mic, is there a diy solution to tighten up?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
This is a common issue with telescoping or clutch-style mic stands like the DR Pro Quick Release. Over time, the internal clutch or tension mechanism can wear out, making it hard for the stand to hold up any weight. Remove the clutch assembly: Unscrew the quick-release mechanism to expose the inside (sometimes just a Phillips or Allen screw). Look for a loose or stripped part: Often, a nut or internal plastic washer is worn or out of place. Tighten any visible bolts/screws: Use pliers or a wrench if needed. Wrap electrical tape or cut a strip of rubber (like from an old bike inner tube or glove) and place it between the inner and outer tubes. This adds grip and keeps the pole from slipping down. If the clutch is plastic and cracked, you can clamp it tighter externally: Use a metal hose clamp (like the kind used for plumbing). Wrap it around the clutch area and tighten gently with a screwdriver—just enough to compress the clutch slightly more. If the stand keeps slipping all the way down, you can jam a dowel, chopstick, or pencil into the tube to stop it at the right height. Not elegant, but it works in a pinch, especially for home setups. Clean out any dust or grease in the clutch area. Use a non-slip rubber grip enhancer (like rosin or tacky hand wax) instead of lubricants, which can make slipping worse.

Is there a way to get the stickiness off of the plastic extension control? After only a short time, the plastic has become sticky, and comes off on one's hands. Not good!

Honestly it's very minimal. Some states require we list the hazardous materials regardless of the amount. More info is available on the manufacturer's website.
