When I decided to dust off the mando, I figured I'd get some good, coated or treated strings so I wouldn't have to worry about them for a long time. I like the XTs I tried on my guitar, so I figured I'd like them for the mandolin, also. I do! They have a nice, smooth feeling under the fingers that really help you to glide up and down the fingerboard. The tone was just a little "clang-y" on the wound strings at first, but settled in beautifully. They sound nice and rich now and stay in tune well. I recommend them.
